1.  What are the most important lessons we all should learn from reviewing this video
and why?
 The most important lesson we all should learn from this video would probably be that
people deal with depression and instability in many different ways. Those that turn to self
harm in the form of cutting use this method to find relief. This is relevant to all because
support is a key factor for helping self harmers through this phase.
 What reactions did you have as you watched the video and why?
 In the opening clip, a teenage girl named Beth is showing her blades, you could see her
scars in frame. It was very difficult to watch. This young girl, who has felt bad enough to
cut since she was 8, had her whole life ahead of her. At any point she could have slipped
and it would be over. This scene made me think of my own son and my boyfriend’s
daughter. It really brought home how different upbringings and genetic triggers can
create such different people.
 How might you apply what you learned from the video to your own life and career?
 I will definitely be more careful around my boyfriend’s daughter, watching for the signs
that she is falling back into the old patterns.
