We are Here not for Income, but for Outcome:
Ri’ayah means care. And that is what we do.
The Ri’ayah Foundation is a non-profit
501(c)(3) organization working to provide
basic healthcare, food and education to people
who are deprived of these necessities. Our
primary goal is to work for the people of
Liberia, as it is among the poorest countries in
the world; living conditions are deteriorating
daily, and the need for help is immediate and
pressing.

In order to achieve our goals, we will
start by working to improve the
despairing conditions of communities
that suffer the most. Worldwide,
children are the ones most affected by
abject conditions, and this is the case
in Liberia as well. Our goalis to
provide Liberian children with basic
nutrition, healthcare and education so
they can reach adulthood, become
self-supporting individuals, and be
able to work for the benefit of their
community in the future.

What We Do
At Ri’ayah, we wish to provide children
with educational tools and opportunities
that will inspire them to become
independent thinkers and future leaders to
build a better tomorrow. For more than
three years, we have been collecting and
distributing food, medical supplies,
clothes, hygiene products, books and
school supplies to the homeless and
needy in Liberia.

Education For Children
The importance of education cannot be
overestimated, as it is the key to a bright
and successful future. At the Ri’ayah
Foundation, it is our firm belief that all
children deserve a chance to get a quality
education, as it is the best way for them
to realize their true potential. Our focus
is to provide children with the
opportunity to learn and develop, so they
can grow up to be an integral and healthy
part of their communities.

Healthcare
One of the primary focuses of the Ri’ayah
Foundation is to initiate a quality medical
care program in Liberia for those who
need it. We are committed to providing
basic healthcare to the people of Liberia.
In order to achieve this monumental goal,
we will work to improve conditions one
community at a time. We believe the best
way to increase awareness of health issues
is through education. One of our current
goals is to open an orphanage and
complement it by building a school for the
children.

Helping The People By Building
Communities
Many people live without the basic
necessities of life. Living in such a
way—without shelter, clean water,
food or education—is something no
person should experience.
Nevertheless, this is the case in
Liberia. Being one of the poorest
countries in the world, there is great
need for building communities where
people can receive the basic
necessities for living a normal life.
The lack of basic infrastructure is an
issue that we at the Ri’ayah Foundation
are aiming to rectify. Our goal is to help
one community at a time. When our
work is finished in one community, we
will move to the next community…and
then the next.We are looking for
volunteers who would like to help us in
this noble endeavor as we go into
underprivileged areas and build homes
for the people in Liberia.

Sanitation & Clean Water
Another important aspect of our
community building program in Liberia
is to help provide people with clean
water. Unsafe water and poor hygiene
lead to a myriad of health problems such
as dysentery, cholera, river blindness, and
hepatitis, and it is critical that this issue
be resolved. These conditions greatly
deteriorate the well-being of a
community, and especially affect the
children, who often contract these
diseases from drinking unsafe water or
while playing or bathing in river water.

Youth Development Programs
Sewing/Fashion Design Classes:
The world today is moving towards entrepreneurship, and fashion design is one of the
leading entrepreneurial skills that Liberian youth can learn easily. Learning to sew and/or
become fashion designers will both enable them to provide for their own immediate
clothing needs and provide them with a marketable skill needed by others. We are
committed to teaching them how to make a living from this skill.
Carpentry Classes:
Carpentry is another type of work that will always be relevant. Many houses are being
built, and carpentry is needed in the process. Every youth interested in this skill will be
trained on how to make pieces of furniture that are daily necessities. Carpentry skills will
help them to provide for themselves and their families.

Computer Literacy:
In this computer age, the knowledge and use of computers is vastly embraced around the
world. The importance of computers cannot be overemphasized. They make work easier
and faster, and are a vital agent of transformation in many developed and developing
countries today. With the Computer Literacy program, Liberian youth will become
computer literate, and this will definitely have a positive effect on their communities.
Computers are now part of our lives, playing an important role in business, education,
and healthcare. They are an integral part of our professional lives and in the development
of a nation. Consequently, for our youth to compete in today’s job market, it is essential
that they have adequate computer skills.
