Reflection
1. “THE KITCHEN GOD’S WIFE REFLECTION”
The novel,”The Kitchen God’s Wife”, proves me that the truth really sets a person
free-that our relationship with the persons whom we mingle with will become better if all
we state,do and show to each other are genuine.Just like in the resolution of the novel,it is
stated that Winnie,Hellen and Pearl will have a trip to China without any fear in their hearts
that something may be revealed which will ruin their relationship.
“WEEP NOT,CHILD REFLECTION”
“Different status in life often result to conflict”, this is what I realized after reading
this novel.I wouldn’t say that living a wealthy life is for those who are economically
advantaged only perhaps, even the unfortunate ones have opportunities to be one of those
people who are tasting the “perfections” of life. There was just a question that lingered in me
after I read the novel and that was, “why does the society need to degrade those who look
different to majority?”Maybe, it’s just a nature of man to step on ones foot for him to look
higher over others.
Secondly, I would like to condemn Njoroge’s attitude over his problems. It’s a very
bad thing to lose hope and faith to God Almighty.Instead of finding for an answer to his
problem, why not ask first for help from Him and look at the brighter side for him not to be
hopeless? His attitude makes his situation worse!
“THINGS FALL APART REFLECTION”
The story is set in Kenya during the Mau Mau uprising which talks about hope and
disappointment. Almost all the characters are driven by grief. And just like the usual stories
that I read, social status is one thing that produces adversary between people. This thing is
until now I cannot understand.
2. “CRIME AND PUNISHMENT REFLECTION”
The character of Raskolnikov is a bit new to me. I can somehow relate to him
wherein I sometimes I isolate myself from many believing that I don’t deserve to be with
them. But there is something that I hate most about this character,he chose to turn down
others offer which will in some point be a great help to him.His pride and self-centeredness
make him unhappy with his life and caused him missed the love that he may receive from
someone. He missed to love and to be loved.
“CRIME AND PUNISHMENT REFLECTION”
I was hooked by this story since I am fond of reading fantasies. I just realized how
difficult it is to love if there are lots of hindrances that block you toward the happiness that
you are wishing to have.Anyway, as I the end of the story, I had a big smile on my face
knowing that everything was just a dream!
“OLIVER TWIST REFLECTION”
One thing I can say about this novel is that, it has many twist-suitable to Oliver’s last
name.I felt pity for the young boy who, since birth has been experiencing hardship in
life. But the good thing about the protagonist of this novel is that, he didn’t lose hope to
strive and instead he remains still in face of various problems he has.
