Invalid’s Story Plot Structure
• Review handout
• Follow the directions ON THE HANDOUT
• Complete the handout and turn it in before the
  end of class
1. Exposition: Where does the story take place? Who are the main
   characters?
2. Conflict: What is the major conflict of the story?
3. Rising Action: What events lead up to the climax of the story?
4. Climax: What is the turning point of the story?
5. Falling Action: What events happen after the climax?
6. Resolution: How does the story end? What loose ends are tied up?
Vocabulary Review
• Turn to page 589 of the text book
• Read the definitions of the nine vocabulary
  words at the bottom of the page
  • Cloister, Pagans, Perverse, Prodigious, Deleterious,
    Ominous, Judicious, Placidly, Desultory)
• Pick five of the words and write one
  sentence using each of the FIVE words in
  your notebook (five sentences total)
• Underline the vocabulary words in your
  sentences

  • 4. Invalid’s Story Plot Structure • Review handout • Follow the directions ON THE HANDOUT • Complete the handout and turn it in before the end of class 1. Exposition: Where does the story take place? Who are the main characters? 2. Conflict: What is the major conflict of the story? 3. Rising Action: What events lead up to the climax of the story? 4. Climax: What is the turning point of the story? 5. Falling Action: What events happen after the climax? 6. Resolution: How does the story end? What loose ends are tied up?
  • 5. Vocabulary Review • Turn to page 589 of the text book • Read the definitions of the nine vocabulary words at the bottom of the page • Cloister, Pagans, Perverse, Prodigious, Deleterious, Ominous, Judicious, Placidly, Desultory) • Pick five of the words and write one sentence using each of the FIVE words in your notebook (five sentences total) • Underline the vocabulary words in your sentences
