MIND
• Understand that working
from home requires self-

wonderful, endless
distractions may tempt
you into lowering your
productivity.

3. MINDFULNESS
• Practice mindfulness.
• As you move between work space and
home space, pause and adjust your thinking
toward the next task.
• Be kind to those who are also at home and
remember they are not your admin
assistants.

4. LONLINESS
• Be one with yourself.
• Working and living alone can
mess with your head. If
possible, buddy with another
home worker so you have
someone to debrief with.

5. PREPARE YOUR
WORKSPACE
• Internet, workstation,
ergonomics. Understand
what is needed to fulfill your
remote working needs in
terms of physical equipment
and connectivity.
• Consumables – will you
need pens, paper, printer ink
etc?
• Don’t try to replicate your

6. SOFTWARE
Support Downtime will affect your productivity – find out who your
ICT support person is and make them your new friend.
Money Check who pays for apps or software subscriptions.
Cloud
Cloud based file management? Check your
access works. Minimise any files or folders
you synchronise with so you don’t fill your
local computer’s harddrives.
7. DRESS FOR
WORK
Pyjamas aren’t usually in the
company’s uniform policy.

9. WORKDAY
SCHEDULE
• Set up a shared calender with team members.
• Schedule family events outside work time.
• Be firm with other householders that you need
to work when in your work space.
• Communicate your work needs with everyone.
Those at home need to understand as well.
10. EAT AWAY FROM
YOUR DESK
• Go for a walk during your
meal breaks if possible
• Eat away from your
workspace.

11. EXERCISE REGULARLY
• Sedentary lifestyle isn’t
good for anyone – get up
and move at regular
intervals.
• Schedule your fitness into
your calender:
• Yoga before starting
work.
