Content is king. But just how do you produce good content? Here are some content writing tips for beginners - http://red-dot-geek.com/content-writing-tips-for-beginners/

3. “Lock up your libraries if you like;
but there is no gate, no lock, no
bolt that you can set upon the
freedom of my mind.”
― Virginia Woolf, A Room of
One's Own
4. THE CONTENT WRITING PROCESS FLOW
• Content writing is creating an interesting piece of content that
captures the readers’ attention while giving them value at the same
time.
• There is no “single way” to approach writing, but personally, I find a
systematic approach eases content writing.
• Adopt these 5 steps if you want, and improve on it.
• Brainstorm > Research > Structure > Writing > Review
5. 1) BRAINSTORMING
• Every piece of content starts with an idea.
• Find a topic or trend to talk about.
• If you don’t have any idea, go with an evergreen topic – Review,
interview, how to, hacks, responding to a comment/situation.
• Note down quick ideas of what you want to write about.
• Keep a clear goal of your article – To educate, to warn, to respond,
or just for fun?
• Drop down quick ideas of what you need to write. Outline your entire
article and keep the scope in check.
6. 2) RESEARCH & STRUCTURING
• Do your homework! Get your facts and information right.
• Filter out the bad information sources – There are many sites on the
Internet you can research on, but some of those are satire sites.
• Structure your findings in point form.
• Do not copy word for word or use copyrighted images in your article
– You might get into trouble with the laws.
• If you have to copy word for word, always cite the source, and link
back to it.
7. 3) WRITING PART 1
• Once you have all the information, the first block for beginners is
probably being afraid to write. Just overcome that by writing one bit
at a time. If you don’t start, you will never finish.
• Use power words for the title – Powerful, fast, instant, step-by-step,
hack, awesome, mega, etc…
• Pepper in some fun into your article, a boring article is the fastest
way to loose readers.
• But stick to your goal, do not go out of point.
• Good articles don’t just give information. Give actionable steps that
readers can take. E.g. 3 steps to get rid of dandruff.
8. 4) WRITING PART 2
• Write in simple language – No complicated words, easily
understood.
• Keep sentences short. Break up big chunks of text, use bigger fonts.
• Use pictures and videos to illustrate if you can.
• Structure your points in lists and tables.
• Use the thesaurus to help you find simpler words – It’s free on the
Internet.
9. 5) EDITING
• Stay away for a day after completing the article. Come back with a
fresh mind before attempting to edit your own article.
• Cut away all the parts that are useless or too difficult to understand.
• Run a spell check.
• After completing everything, read through the article from head to tail
once again – Clean out as much mistakes as possible.
