Expectations of Uniform 
• School Sweatshirt 
• Grey/black skirt/shorts/trousers/pinafore dress 
• White polo shirt/ cotton shirt 
• Black shoes (no heels, no trainers) 
• In summer – purple dresses /shorts ( black or 
grey) 
• No Jewellery except small studs or sleepers 
All Uniform MUST be labelled!
PE Kit 
• PE Kit – These should be brought in on a 
Monday and kept in school until Friday. It 
is essential for your child's wellbeing that 
they are fully equipped to take part in PE. 
The kit must be black shorts, white t-shirt, 
white socks, black plimsolls
Attendance and Punctuality 
• Importance of regular attendance ( & rewards – 
class trophy/certificates) 
• Importance of punctuality – Raffle tickets 
• When attendance drops below 92% Ms O’Hara 
becomes involved and you will be contacted by 
letter. 
• A home school agreement with targets will be 
put in place if attendance continues to be poor 
which can result in the EWO becoming involved.

• MFL is now statutory – years 1 - 6 will be 
taught French by Mrs Stevens weekly.
Foundation Subjects 
• IPC has been updated in line with the new curriculum. 
• Topic based but discrete subjects. 
• A rolling programme between years 3 and 4. 
• Exit and Entry points. 
• Other subjects will also be timetabled into the school 
week, such as PE and RE. 
• Any skills not covered will be taught at other times. 
• Science knowledge will be revised throughout. 
• KS2 pupils will receive a music lesson paid for by the 
school where they will be taught either fife or clarinet by 
a specialist music teacher.

Expectations of Uniform • School Sweatshirt • Grey/black skirt/shorts/trousers/pinafore dress • White polo shirt/ cotton shirt • Black shoes (no heels, no trainers) • In summer – purple dresses /shorts ( black or grey) • No Jewellery except small studs or sleepers All Uniform MUST be labelled!
  • 7. PE Kit • PE Kit – These should be brought in on a Monday and kept in school until Friday. It is essential for your child's wellbeing that they are fully equipped to take part in PE. The kit must be black shorts, white t-shirt, white socks, black plimsolls
  • 8. Attendance and Punctuality • Importance of regular attendance ( & rewards – class trophy/certificates) • Importance of punctuality – Raffle tickets • When attendance drops below 92% Ms O’Hara becomes involved and you will be contacted by letter. • A home school agreement with targets will be put in place if attendance continues to be poor which can result in the EWO becoming involved.

Foundation Subjects • IPC has been updated in line with the new curriculum. • Topic based but discrete subjects. • A rolling programme between years 3 and 4. • Exit and Entry points. • Other subjects will also be timetabled into the school week, such as PE and RE. • Any skills not covered will be taught at other times. • Science knowledge will be revised throughout. • KS2 pupils will receive a music lesson paid for by the school where they will be taught either fife or clarinet by a specialist music teacher.

Writing Targets Date Target 1st Achieved 2nd Achieved 3rd Achieved I can punctuate direct speech. “Hello. “ I can use a 3ed sentence eg: Frightened, terrified, exhausted, they ran from the creature. I can use full stops, capital letters, exclamation and question marks accurately. I can use speech marks to show when a character is speaking. I can use different ways to start my sentences to make them more interesting. eg by using a connective of an adverb. I can use adverbs in my writing (Describes the verb) Slowly walking I can use 2A sentences in my work to add detail. (2 adjectives before the first noun and 2 before the final noun) eg. He was a tall, awkward man with an old, crumpled jacket. I can organise paragraphs around a theme. I can use simple organisational devices such as headings and subheadings. I am beginning to use a range of conjunctions to extend sentences. I am beginning to use apostrophes for possession with plural nouns. I can use an ad, same ad sentence. He was a fast runner, fast because he needed to be. Example of targets for level 3

Reading & Homework • New Reading Journal – MUST be brought to school everyday. • Weekly – Reading (daily), Spelling, Times tables, Maths, English, IPC Family projects. • Homework will be given out …………. Spellings: Given out on a Monday – Test Friday. English: Given out on a Monday – due in on Thursday. Maths: Given out on a Thursday – due in on Monday.
  • 16. Enrichment Activities • Blanket trip permission letter • Trips we may be going on this year….British Museum, Science Museum. • Other trips tbc

  • 19. School Dinners • New company • Juniors will need to pay online in advance • £10 per week • Dinners must be ordered in advance. • Children will have the opportunity to have fresh bread, vegetables cooked on site.
