Role: Billing Mediation SME (Subject Matter Expert)
Description: Telstra is an Australian Telecommunication company, where
we are supporting mediation billing operations to the Australian customers.
The project provides solution for CDRs identification, Collection, and Output
Mapping according to business requirement for the Billing and Data Ware House
(EDW) streams.
3. Key Responsibilities:
Provide Level-2 production application support on INTEC IntermediatE (IME)
mediation application.
Using INTEC Intermediate application for CDRs (Call Detail Record) processing of various switches
namely Ericson, Comverse IN, SMS, VOIP Gateways, IMS, VOLTE(4G) and applying filtration logic for
billing streams as KENAN, FLEXCAB, UPS & EDW(Data Ware House).
Analyzing CDRs for correctness and performing further validations. Rectification of the same
through proper analysis and preventing revenue loss by reprocessing them
through proper scripting.
Responsible for implementing development fixes/patches in production as per
business requirement through Change Management Process(Remedy CRQ)
Analyzing on Error Re-process System (EPS) bucket records and provide relevant
solution to Client- Telstra Charging Integrity Assurance Team (CIA).
Design and development of automation scripts related to daily basis activities
in production as File Collection/Distribution Delay, Missing File report,

4. Role: System Analyst
Description: Reliance Communications Ltd. (RCom) is an Indian Internet
access and telecommunications company. It is an in-house mediation project where we receive
CDRs and Data from ALCATEL & HUAWEI MSS-Voice calls 2G & 3G, CISCO & Ericsson PSTN, SGSN GPRS data,
SMS, MMS, TAP-IN (Outbound Roaming), TAP-OUT (Inbound Roaming)and deliver to various downstream
as SINGLEVIEW Rating &Billing, DSS, LEA, ICT & Syniverse.
INTEC - Intermediate is a Mediation application. IME is UNIX based system
responsible for implementation of the mediation rules for Wire line
(Ericsson), CDMA-Wireless (Lucent), GMSC (Ericsson), Pre Paid Services (IN
System), SMS streams and collect the Raw CDRs using Intec Inter-mediate and
Convert into ASCII format and send the CDR (Call Detail Records) in required
format for Downstream Application Like Billing, Fraud management, Decision
Support, Interconnect, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
Using INTEC Intermediate-E application for CDRs (Call Detail Record) processing
of various switches namely Lucent, Ericsson, Nortel, Telos, Comverse IN,
Motorola SMS, VOIP Gateways and applying filtration, analyzing,
rectification, generating reports, managing and maintains the high
availability and cluster configured.
Analysis, Testing and Validations of CDR Documentation & implementation, to deal with
daily operation work as well as to find a generic solution of various
issue faced by Mediation operation
Works on Audit Report generation for CDR reconciliation, Error Processing
Report (EPS) and Additional Reports for trend analysis of data volume,
error analysis etc.
Tools for to generate Billing CDR Processing Report at Mediation End.
Monitoring activities for polling and extract CDRs for POI.
Monitoring and attending the daily CDR data polling issues from various
switches. Responsible for ensuring the smooth polling of CDRs from various
Switch locations
Analysis of Failed CDRs on daily basis and issue escalations to the Vendors like Lucent, Ericson for
network & switch related problems in the CDRs generation. Rectification of the same through
proper analysis and ensuring that there is no revenue loss by reprocessing the CDRs
Handling the downstream requirements i.e. interconnect, Billing, Decision Support Team, Fraud
Management system and Network performance team.
Support for Intec Application System i.e. System Startup/Stop in case of any down time required
for servers
Ensuring timely execution of operational & monitoring activities including generation of MIS
reports, smooth polling from various switches location.
