job. He is educated

about the future of his son. The family was under a debt.

trade of millions of rupees. He is proud of his property, everyone
respects his wealth. He thinks that he can buy everything..

6.  The story is pre-independence. A new salt department was created. Upper
earning in the department was very high, so all the people were keen to
work in this department.
 In those times, Persian was dominated and instead of higher knowledge,
only by reading Persian stories of love and poetry of Shringar Ras, people
reached high positions.
 Munshi Vanshidhar also studied Persian and set out in search of
employment.
 The financial condition of his house was poor.
 His father explained to him a lot while leaving the house, the essence of
which was to do such a job which would earn high and take bribe seeing
man and opportunity.

7. Vanshidhar takes a blessing from his father and goes out in search of a job.
Luckily, the job of the is found in a job in which the salary was good
as well as the upper earning was also high.
When the father came to know this news, he was very happy.

8. One night during winter, Vanshidhar was sleeping in his office. A
mile before his office was the Jamuna River on which the bridge of
boats was built.
Vanshidhar got his gun in a pocket and moved there on a horse on
the bridge.

9. there was a long line of carts crossing the bridge. Vanshidhar asked, whose cart
it was, then it was discovered, there were of Pandit Alopidin.
Munshi Vanshidhar was shocked. Pandit Alopidin was the most eminent
zamindar of the area. He got the answer from one cart owner that the carts
were going to Kanpur.
When Vanshidhar asked about the
goods loaded in the carts,,
he did not get any answer,
so he starts inspecting

10. There was a black trade of salt of millions of rupees
without the permission of the government. When
Vanshidhar did an investigation, it was found that there
were sacks of salt piles in the carts.

11. Vanshidhar stopped the vehicles/carts. When Panditji
came to know about this, he came to meet Vanshidhar in a
chariot. Panditji was sure that he could easily influence the
salt inspector as he used to do others. He believed in the
power of money.

12. Panditji asked him about stopping the carts. The salt inspector replied that this
trade is against the law and he had to pay the fine. Panditji tried bribed
Vanshidhar and asked him to leave the vehicles, but Vanshidhar stood firm.
The inspector ordered Panditji to be arrested. Panditji was surprised. Panditji also
increased the bribe but Vanshidhar did not agree and Panditji was arrested. He
was taken to a court

13. The next day this news spread everywhere. The people started gossiping about the
incident.
Handcuffs were placed in the hands of Pandit Alopidin and brought to the court.
His neck was bowed with guilt and anger and shame in the heart.

14. Everyone was amazed how Panditji got caught in the law. All the lawyers and
witnesses were in Panditji's favor. Vanshidhar had only
the force of There was partiality in the court of justice. The trial
ended immediately. The
court expressed sorrow over Vanshidhar's behavior of arrogance and
thoughtlessness, which caused a good person to suffer. Pandit Alopidin came out
with a smile. Rupees were distributed. Vanshidhar had to endure the sarcasm in the
court and out of the court by the public.

15. Within a week, he was punished for duty and truth.
Disgusted with defeated heart, grief and regret, he walked towards his
home. When I reached home, my father heard bitter things. The old mother
also felt sad. The wife did not speak directly to her mouth for several days.

16. One week passed. It was evening. Vanshidhar's father was chanting the name of
Ram. Then there came a chariot decorated and stopped. The father saw Pandit
Alopidin. Bowed down and worshiped them, and began to speak coyly, Also
whipped his son. Panditji told that he saw many nobles and officials and enslaved
everyone with his wealth. This is the first time a person has defeated them by their
devotion. When Vanshidhar saw Panditji, he welcomed him with self-respect. He
felt that Panditji had come to embarrass/insult him.

17. But after listening to the words of Panditji, the
filth(misunderstanding) of his mind was erased and told
Panditji's words to be his generosity.
He told Panditji that he would be ready to do what he
ordered. At this point,

18. When Vanshidhar read the paper, Panditji
. Gratefully Vanshidhar had tears in his eyes and said
that he was not qualified for the post. On this, Panditji smiled and said that he
needed only a disqualified person. Vanshidhar said that he has so much ,he did
not have the intellect to do this work. Giving pen to Vanshidhar, Panditji said that
he does not want a student but a pious person. Vanshidhar shook and signed the
paper on the management paper.
