To Whom it May Concern,
This letter is in support of Ravi Hariani’s decision to pursue a career in data analytics.
I have known Ravi for the past academic year at the Eller College of Management – University of
Arizona, where he took two of my graduate MIS courses: Web Mining and Computing and Data
Mining for Business Intelligence.
Ravi has a broad understanding of data science and analytics and in depth knowledge of a range of
data mining algorithms. He completed his course requirements for acquiring the concentration in the
Analytics field by securing good grades throughout. He has been methodical and persistent in his
work. He has worked on two data mining projects in my courses which require substantial and diverse
data sets to be combined and mined. For this, he has made use of a variety of analytic and reporting
tools such as SQL Server Management Studio, MS Excel, IBM SPSS, R with R Studio, Python and
Tableau to help understand the processes of data cleaning, mining, transformation and reporting.
Ravi’s desire to get into the core of the subject helped him to understand its finer aspects to analyze,
interpret and model data. In the course of my interaction with him and his project group, I found him
to be open minded in accepting suggestions and willing to take a lead role in these projects. He is an
outgoing young man. I believe him to be able to respond positively to temporary setbacks and he is
eager to explore new ideas, persist in his work and perform well in analytics work.
I would describe Ravi as a well-balanced individual who is keen to learn and execute timely decisions.
He is a great team player, has excellent English communication skills and is results oriented. I wish
him the very best for his future endeavors.
Sincerely,
