KNOWLEDGE ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING?

2. YES, MEDIA IS VERY HELPFUL IN
SPREADING KNOWLEDGE ABOUT
GLOBAL WARMING
IT PLAYS VITAL ROLE IN OUR LIFE. IT IS
AS MUCH NECESSARY AS LIKE WATER,
FOOD,
SHELTER ETC. MEDIA ALSO AWARE US
ABOUT THE PROBLEMS GOING IN OUR
ENVIRONMENT.........................
3.
4. Global warming is the rise in the average temperature of the earth’s atmosphere
oceans since the late 19th century, and its projected continuation. Since the early
20th century, Earth's mean surface temperature has increased by about 0.8 °C
with about two-thirds of the increase occurring since 1980. Warming of the climate
system is unequivocal, and scientists are more than 90% certain that it is primarily
caused by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases produced by human
activities such as deforestation and the burning of fossil fuels. These findings
are recognized by the national science academies of all major industrialized nations
5. A greenhouse gas (sometimes abbreviated GHG) is a gas in an atmosphere that
absorbs and emits radiation within the thermal infrared range. This process is the
fundamental cause of the greenhouse effect. The primary greenhouse gases in the
Earth's atmosphere are water vapour, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and
ozone. In the Solar System, the atmospheres of Venus and Mars also contain gases that
cause greenhouse effects. Greenhouse gases greatly affect the temperature of the
Earth; without them, Earth's surface would be on average about 33 °C colder than at
present.
However, since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, the burning of fossil fuels
has contributed to the increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere from 280 ppm to
397 ppm, despite the uptake of a large portion of the emissions through various
natural "sinks" involved in the carbon cycle. Anthropogenic carbon dioxide (CO2 )
emissions (i.e., emissions produced by human activities) come from combustion of
carbonaceous fuels, principally wood, coal, oil, and natural gas.
GREENHOUSE GAS
6. As said, the major cause of global warming is the emission of green house gases like
carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide etc into the atmosphere. The major source
of carbon dioxide is the power plants. These power plants emit large amounts of carbon
dioxide produced from burning of fossil fuels for the purpose of electricity generation.
About twenty percent of carbon dioxide emitted in the atmosphere comes from burning
of gasoline in the engines of the vehicles. This is true for most of the developed
countries. Buildings, both commercial and residential represent a larger source of
global warming pollution than cars and trucks.

7. HOW TO STOP
GLOBAL WARMING
EVEN NOW WE CAN STOP GLOBAL WARMING BY PLANTING TREE.
THE USE OF FOSSIL FUELS SHOULD BE MINIMISEDWE SHOULD
NOT WASTE ELECTRICITY ETC. BY THESE SMALL CONTRIBUTIONS
ON OUR PART CAN MAKE HUGE DIFFERENCE. IT’S OUR DUTY TO
STOP GLOBAL WARMING AND MAKE OUR EARTH PARADISE ONCE
AGAIN....................
THE EARTH IS IN OUR HANDS
