Unit rules/constitution
1. INDIAN INSTITUTE OF INSURANCE SURVEYORS AND LOSS ASSESSORS
CHAPTER COUNCIL, UTTARPRADESH.
UNIT FORMATION, RULES GUIDELINES AND FUNCTIONS.
Formationof unit
1. Sizeof unit committee: -
Up to 25 Member- 03 Executive Members (Including officebearers)
Up to 50 Member- 05 Executive Members (Including officebearers)
Above50 Member -07 Executive Member (Including officebearers)
2. Elected UC (Unit committee) will elect Coordinator & Dy. Coordinator
3. In case of units (Exceeding 75 members) two Deputy Coordinators could
Elected.
4. A unit may be formed with adjoining one or more districts/towns but in any
casethere should not be more than one unit in a district/town.
5. All Metro cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore etc. are
exempted from above binding. Approval of central is mandatory in such
cases. In cases of other places following points to be followed.
1. Minimum size of unit will be 20 members.
2. The Districts/Towns under a chapter where there are no surveyors shall also
be covered under the unit adjoining to the district/Towns.
3. Concerned Chapter council shall nominate and recommend the Unit
committee and Chapter chairman/Zonal council shall approve the
nomination or election and final decision of central council is binding.
4. Decision of concerned National chairman/secretary shallbe binding to all.
5. Tenure of the nominated body will be maximum 6 month
6. Chapter council shall send his recommendation to the Zonal council/
central council. CC shall approve the formation. The concerned chapter
council shall declare, keep records and supervisethe units.
7. Location of unit office and area of operation: -
The unit office shall conventionally situate at coordinator or deputy
Coordinator’s address.
Entire district and adjoining districts/towns, as recommended by
Chapter council and approved by chapter council shall be the area of
operation of unit
2. 6. Eligibility tobe a unit committee member: -
Should be a valid member of IIISLA.
He must haveupdated his IIISLA subscription.
He should be an Independent practicing surveyor.
He must not be an employee of any insurance Company/ Insurance
broker or must not be in any other serviceor employment.
7. Duties and Responsibilities of coordinator/Dy. coordinator: -
Shall ensurethat decisions taken by the UC are implemented in time.
Shall handle entire correspondence directly or through the Dy.
Coordinator.
Shall delegate work to Dy. Coordinator and executive members.
Shall bring importantmatters to the knowledgeof the chapter council.
Shall avoid direct contact in matters of institute with ZO/HO/any other
higher authority without taking the chapter council in confidence.
Shall help the members in distress and shall help other units in case of
any urgency.
Must follow code of conduct laid by IRDAI and strictly follow the code of
professionalethics of IIISLA.
8. Coordinators /Deputy Coordinators, Executive members should
Possess good public image.
Possess sound communication skill.
Be non-controversial.
Be acceptable to all.
Be visionary, analyticaland investigative
Be open to suggestions and criticism and must be capable to promote
new leaders.
9. OBJECTIVES/FUNCTION SETFOR UNIT COMMITTEE: -
a) To enhance the unity at ground level.
b) To initiate studentmembership.
3. c) To support newcomers in the profession and persuade members to
update the IIISLA subscription.
d) To educate, train and support the trainees and members in matters of
membership and membership restoration.
e) To be an initiator in all short of surveyor issues and report to the chapter
council through area wisechapter council member.
f) To report/check violation of 64 UM. The inhouse exceeding to Rs
50,000.00 in motor and Rs 100,000.00 exceeding other than motor by
inhouse employee is violative. So, unit will check/report and initiate
complaint and report to chapter council.
Central council IIISLA is empowered to amend or substitute rules and regulation
to control the unit/ Chapters/Zone.
