BSCNE team used to watch thousands of mails every day for issues{abends} tracking.
Sometimes, few mails may miss because of this manual work. Also this requires more effort. So,
to ease their life and work, we have developed a tool, BOAT. It tracks each and every abend
without fail. The process we followed to load the abends into tool is follows. With the help of
perl script, I read and parsed the abends data into DB. From there, we made the GUI to load
them. And we have designed the tool to track each and every abend from open to closure status.

IFE is a Bill Formatting Engine. Before for bill formatting, there were several
systems. But, at later point, around at Aug-2013 Verizon brought up a new single system , by
consolidating all the existing systems into one. That new system is IFE{formerly APB}. This
IFE is a rule based engine, which runs everything based on rules. These rules are configured in

4. Oracle DB, and these rules will be taken by Java programs. These java programs will process the
bills for correct formatting. While this whole process is applying, we have done more testing and
ran cycles and gave feedback and outputs of those cycles to different teams. Those teams have
made the necessary changes by raising several IRs. We were a part of support, as well as testing.
To ease our support work, I have developed several shell scripts, which works on automatic
based.
Few examples of scripts are:
1. Servers health check status script. This will check the health and status of servers and send an
automatic mail to the given mail recipients.
2. Cycle monitoring script. This will monitor the cycle, while it is under progress.
3. Cycle Validation script. This script used for checking input files, starting cycle, sending files
to the testing team.
4. Servers space checking scripts. These scripts checks the dish usage of servers. If any server's
disk space is more than a threshold, then an alert will be sent to the given mail recipients.

RIBS CURE is the invoice correction tool used to correct data and video invoices. It

files and the data is loaded into RIBS DB through feedback process. Once data is loaded, records

the corresponding systems back.

RiBS - for handling Billing for customers of US WEST region for LEC and national Billing

Project Details : The objective of this effort is to provide Vision based, fully automated,
virtually synchronous Operation Integrated Control Environment: VOICE.
The main objective of VOICE is to provide highly visual tool open to large audience that would
not require extensive or in depth knowledge of the mechanics of a Bill Cycle.
VOICE will be intuitive, with simple user friendly interfaces and a broad reach in terms of
visibility of controls and status of jobs and processes.

• As a first step of this project, I wrote a script which parses the complex data and stores in
the DB tables in required format to show those abend details in BOAT.
• Later we have got several types of files, which contains cycle processing job details.
Parsed those files also to store them into DB.
• I played a vital role in this project in DB level, script level, decision making level etc. For
my extended performance, I got awards for two times in six months.
