o Government of Islamic Republic of Iran is the name given to the Iranian
government
o Iran’s government type is theocratic republic which means a
government ruled by religious leaders.
o The highest authority in the Islamic Republic is the Leader. His job is to
combine the best political and religious power.
o Iran has an elected president and parliament. However an expert on
Islamic laws is the best leader.
o The second highest authority next to the leader, is the president. The
President signs and supervises the accomplishment of laws approved
by the Majles (an Arabic world for parliament).
o Iran is a hard-line policies (firm and uncompromising ). For example the
government called for destruction of the state of Israel.

•According to the 2016 population census the population of Iran was 79.9
million
•Between 1976 and 1986, an average annual population growth of almost 4%
• growth decreased to 1.2% between 2011 and 2016.
