Guinean Forest west Africa, the hot spots
include two distinct sub-regions. The forest was
exploited for timber threated by hunting
(doesn’t represent intact habitat) and some
illegal logging. And the forest been mined for
gold iron etc. there are 9,000 vascular plant
species. 185 are endemic to these islands.
5. Philippines
• A mere three percent of the forest is
estimated to remain in the lowland regions.
About 14 percent of the original vegetation
remains as secondary growth. There is 80
million people that livily hoods depend on the
natural resources.
