Aatmaja foundation was launched in March 2015 to enable young girls from disadvantaged background to pursue their aspirations. We have progressed well over last two years. Now we support 100 such girls. Here is small update on our progress. This has been possible only because of focused effort of our team and well wishes from all of you. 2. Aatmaja Foundation Status Update June 2017
• Aatmaja Foundation is a non-profit organization registered as a charitable trust on
25th March 2015 under the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950
• The foundation’s endeavour is to provide financial support, special coaching,
personal and career counseling to bright young girls from disadvantaged
background to enable them to grow into empowered, confident professionals with
strong values.
• WHY WE DO
– Adolescent girls in India are constantly denied opportunities to reach their full
potential. Girls are essential agents of change. We believe that by investing in
educating girls, and leading to their empowerment we are making a
contribution towards building the Nation.
• WHAT WE DO
– We partner with schools to select 10th standard bright girls from
disadvantaged backgrounds and we provide the required support under the
“Udaan” programme for seven to eight years until they become independent
professionals.

3. Progress in last two years
• We now support 100 girls from 9’th standard onwards to pursue their chosen
profession by
– Financial help for fees, extra classes , books notebooks
– Provide individual career counseling and personal counseling , family
meetings
– Hand hold through online admission process
– Regular workshops for study skills, creativity, leadership , grooming , safety
etc.
– Regular reviews of progress and inputs for further improvement and
motivation

• Our girls (Aatmajas as we call them) have done well in their respective
exams
• 8th & 9th results
• Our all thirty Aatmajas scored Extremely well in SSC exams

5. Progress in last two years , contd
• We have developed IT application to store of all personal, progress and financial
aid data. The data has been updated to help us track as well some analytics for
future.
• We have received 80 G certification in 2016 and all donations will receive Income
tax exemption. We have complied with all requirements of trust in terms of filing
returns and submissions
• We have managed to keep administrative costs under 10 %, ensuring most of
money reaches beneficiaries
