This post will discuss how you can upgrade the battery/battery-life of your RC car to increase the running time of the car.

1. How to upgrade the battery/

2. 1:15 6.4-Volt Ford Raptor truck from Walmart with working/running time of 15 to20 minutes

3. Open the truck from Below

4. Remove the Battery Holder

5. Open the Battery Holder
Battery (6.4V 350mAh)

6. Remove the wires
Remove the battery

7. Get an additional/replacement battery
Remember: We are not increasing the performance of the car, we are increasing its working
time by choosing and adding a bigger capacity battery of same voltage. Here I have the original
battery of 6.4 V with 350mAh and additional battery of 6.4V with 1600mAh.
WARNING: Batteries are dangerous business so before start playing please
educate yourself about them.

8. Wiring the batteries together to increase the capacity to get longer working time
The batteries are wired in Parallel
(connecting positive to positive and
negative to negative). Now the
combination have capacity of
1950mAh at 6.4V- roughly 6 times
increase.
Warning: Connecting the batteries
is a dangerous business so please
educate yourself first.

9. Insulate the wire-joints, wrap the new battery in Watertight bag and mount it back

10. Truck is ready with roughly 6 times the working time of 90 to 120 minutes.
Important: Please choose the battery carefully, please educate yourself before wiring, do not
wire the batteries in series (it may burn the electronics). The procedure outlined here will be
different depending on the RC vehicle but the idea is the same.
