• Online Interviewing- A trend that had been increasing, but
COVID-19 necessitated a fast scaling up of those processes.
• Emphasis on more Technical Skills and Self Learning- With
remote working, the hiring is now based on individuals good at
TS and SL(Technical Skills and Self Learning)
• For Large organizations , remote working was easy. For
smaller organizations, it was more about layoffs.
• Principles, Not Processes were tested- Protecting their people,
Serving their customers and Supporting their communities.
• Building a Foundation of Trust
• Breaking Boundaries- War Like preparations to combat the
Disruption
• Agility between Employers and Employees
• Clear disparity between what is substantive and what is not.
• Only Meaningful meetings flows.
• Flexibility in meeting schedules.
• Shorter Meetings
Covid has pushed CSR deeper into corporate consciousness
• UK manufacturing companies transformed their factories to
produce ventilators, personal protective equipment, hand
sanitizer, and so on, with some of them donating, instead of
selling.
• Vodafone introduced free access to unlimited mobile data for
many of its pay monthly customers and upgraded its
vulnerable pay monthly customers to unlimited data offer for
free.
• Supermarkets in the UK have allocated opening hours
specifically for the elderly.
• NIKE. The new slogan of NIKE is “if you ever dreamed of
playing for Millions around the World, Now is your Chance.
“Play Inside, Play for the World”.
• Hindustan Unilever Limited, through its product Lifebuoy
soap, spreads the message of “washing hands frequently with
Any Soap or Hand-wash or Alcohol based Sanitizer to combat
against the spread of Corona Virus”.
• DHL Supply Chain India started a campaign called Hello...Stay
Connected where the HR team members called all 1,900
employees across the country to check on their and their
families’ health and well-being.
• Ciena has incorporated the Global Pandemic Leave. They want
to ensure that an affected employee has the flexibility to fully
rest and recover or serve as a caretaker without worrying
about taking additional time off or using existing leave
benefits.
• The Learn@Home initiative of Infinity Retail for employees
provides e-books, e-modules, recent trends, etc. to help
employees leverage their time effectively.
• Quess Corp strongly believes this, which is why they put
together an exclusive health and wellness webinar session for
all their employees from a qualified nutritionist and a certified
fitness trainer.
• At S&P Global, the health, safety, and wellness of team
members is top priority. With the rise in the number of Covid-
19 cases, they have implemented various policies to support
employees and their families during this unprecedented time.
• Virtual Yoga: Building immunity and staying fit is as important
as social distancing in the current situation.
• Daffodil Software and Unthinkable Solutions have both started
initiatives to keep their employees engaged over the
weekend. Every Saturday they share riddles and puzzles to
solve over the weekend, recommend must-watch movies,
latest series, books to read, recipes, etc. to their employees so
that they have something to look forward and keep
themselves occupied.
• Storytelling Sessions: Organizations have started a daily
storytelling session (“Once Upon a Time”) for the children of
their employees so that they can work and attend important
meetings — the employees have received this very well and
there is a lot of excitement amongst their children who wait
for the sessions every day.
• Innovation is the key to survive.
• An Increase In Risk Perception Makes Consumers More Willing
To Pay For Safety Features.
• Firms are forced to be smarter.

For smaller organizations, it was more about layoffs.
