• In 1981, seven engineers started Infosys Limited with just
US$250.Today, Infosys is a global leader in next-generation IT and
consulting, with revenues of US$7.4 billion.

1981-1990 : CHANGING MINDSET ERA
• In 1981, led by N.R. Narayana Murthy, seven young professionals
started a small company in Pune, India. Infosys Consultants Pvt. Ltd.
began with just US $250, zero infrastructure and a dream to create
quality software.
• In 1983, Infosys decided to shift base from Pune to Bangalore.
• In the time customers in the US went home from work and returned
the next morning, a solution would be waiting them.The Global
Delivery Model (GDM) was born.

1991 – 1995 : THE EXPANSION
• Till 1989-90, 100 per cent of Infosys revenue came from
the US. Infosys needed to reduce its geographic risks and
