PRESS RELEASE
WITH THE FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF THE EUROPEAN UNION TREBAG LTD IN NAGYKOVÁCSI
HAS STARTED THE DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITAL EDUCATIONAL GAMES WHICH AIM AT
HELPING STUDENTS BECOME ENTREPRENEURS AND CONSCIOUS COSTUMERS
Established in 1989 Trebag Ltd has been engaged for about ten years now in developing e- training material
primarily within the framework of the projects of the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Union. Most
of these training materials address the teaching of management of businesses, of innovation and quality
management of entrepreneurships.
The target group of the present project financed by the ÚszT1
are students in primary and secondary schools.
One of the main goals of the Union (and as part of it Hungary, too) is to facilitate the employment of the youth,
foster to establish their career and at the same time diminish their unemployment. The European Union lists 8
core competences which should be acquired by youngsters in the course of their studies. One of these is
entrepreneurship. Young people during their studies gain information about entrepreneurship, might feel
motivated to set up their own business and thus create work opportunities for themselves and perhaps for
others too
In Hungary the New National Curriculum1
(NAT) also defines „Initiative and entrepreneurial competence” as one
of the key competences and targets to teach the basic knowledge of entrepreneurship and of the world of
businesses. The New National Curriculum also targets to teach Health-and environmentally conscious
shopping and consumption, consumer protection.
The educational games to be elaborated are related to the programme of the new NAT, are not coursebook
materials but serve as their digital teaching aids. The games will apply a new methodology which is based on
high level of interactivity, and on community building. This will facilitate acquiring knowledge about the world of
entrepreneurship in a game based environment as well as raise motivation in young people to set up their own
businesses. The games about becoming a conscious customer helps to prepare youngsters to live a
healthier life and also to consider responses to challenges of the world around us provoking infinite
consumption.
