  2. 2. Confirmation<br />7th and 8th grade parents, please meet with Pastor Graham following the class meeting with Principal Iles and Mrs. Duquaine.<br />
  3. 3. Absent Students<br />If a student is ill, parents should call the school office 231-8957<br />If a student arrives after 9:00 A.M., the student will be marked absent for ½ day<br />
  4. 4. Arrival and Departure<br />A small area with a sign will be set near the curb on 10th street<br />Please do not park, idle, or wait between these cones<br />This will help keep the intersection clear and reduce the possibility for accidents<br />Doors open at 7:40 and the day begins at 8:00<br />Dismissal is 3:00<br />Please use the designated crosswalk areas at all times so that the teachers on duty can focus on helping all of the children safely cross our streets<br />

Before and After School Care<br />Deb Paulsen<br />Before 7:20, drop students off at main office and office will inform students which classroom to go to<br />Between 7:20-7:40, drop students off on 10th Street to wait outside until doors open at 7:40<br />ASC 3:00-5:30 pm. Registration forms are available in the Narthex. Fill out a registration form and turn in $10 registration fee to the office if child will be using program<br />Pre-paid program <br />$10 minimum balance.<br />

Lunch and Busing<br />Both begin on September 1st<br />When public school has early dismissal, Grace bus students will depart at 2:50.<br />When public schools are not in session, there will be no busing or hot lunch for Grace students.<br />If your child rides the bus, you should receive info in the next few days<br />
  7. 7. School Lunch Program<br />Milk begins on the first day of school<br />Free and Reduced applications are available in the narthex<br />Lunch prices are $2.60 and milk prices are $.40<br />Online payments are no longer able to be accepted<br />Please keep a minimum balance of $10 in your account to avoid a lapse in meals<br />Payments for lunch and after school care should be dropped off at the office<br />Separate payments are needed for these two programs - this will help us in accurate bookkeeping<br />

Medications<br />State and Federal laws have forced some changes to our medication policy<br />Students with inhalers must have written documentation from a doctor kept in the office<br />All OTC and prescription medication must be brought to school by the parent in its original container and be kept in the office<br />The office is not able to change prescription dosages without notice from a physician<br />Cough drops must be given to the teachers<br />Nonprescription dosages will require parent administration of medicine<br />New forms are available in the office and must be filled out for this school year<br />No medication can be dispensed until all proper forms are submitted<br />
  9. 9. Handchimes and Jr. Choir <br />Mrs. Schmitzer<br />Handchimes: Students in grades 5-8 should sign up on music door.<br />All upper grade students are in Jr. Choir<br />Miss Rick and Mrs. Schmitzer will be offering piano lessons<br />Speak with them at your convenience<br />

Background Checks<br />Volunteers in the following positions will need to undergo a background check before serving…<br />Pre-K and Kindergarten Aid<br />After School Care Aid<br />All Coaches<br />Lunch Room Supervisor<br />Chaperones that are alone with children<br />Office Staff<br />Substitute Teachers<br />Sunday School Teachers and Helpers<br />

  12. 12. Cell Phones<br />Please keep them off and in the lockers at all times<br />1st Offense – Parent has to pick it up<br />2nd Offense – Parent has to pick it up and a $10 fine<br />3rd Offense – Your child has lost the privilege to bring the phone to school<br />
  13. 13. Internet Privacy<br />If you would prefer to not have your child featured on the school blog, please complete the form in the narthex<br />You may elect to withdraw at any time<br />The school blog can be found at www.pawportal.wordpress.com<br />
  14. 14. Dress Code<br />Modesty is the best policy<br />An extra pair of gym shoes is required to be in the gym<br />On rainy days we hold recess in the gym, students should be prepared for these days as well<br />Neat-Clean-Appropriate<br />

  16. 16. Chapel<br />Chapel services will be held from 8:00-8:30 on Fridays<br />Parents are invited to attend every week<br />
  17. 17. Terra Nova Testing<br />September 26th – 30th<br />Please do not schedule dentist or doctor appointments during this period, if possible<br />
