The study investigated voter education by the Independence National Electoral Commission and Political Awareness among residents of South – South Nigeria. The essence was to ascertain the level at which INEC’s voters education messages have been able to promote political awareness among residents to the South – South Geopolitical Zone of Nigeria.Survey research method was used for the study while questionnaire was adopted as data collection instrument. The 30.221.345 residents of South – South Geopolitical Zone were used as the population of the study from where a sample size of 385 was drawn using the Australian National Bureau of Static online Sample Calculator. The multi staff Sampling Technique was used for the study while simple percentage were deployed in analyzing he collected data. Based on the analysis of data, findings revealed that INEC’s voter education materials are not very comprehensive to majority of the respondents. INEC’s voter education messages have not significantly promoted respondents knowledge of the practices that could lead to voiding of votes. Based on the finding, the study recommended that INEC should repackage its voter education materials in such manner that it will be well understood by the various categories of the citizens such as the blind, deaf and dumb, illiterates as men as the literates. INEC’s voter education messages should target the promotion of the knowledge of electoral act among the residents and knowledge of voting procedure in elections and how voiding at votes could be prevented. This Research Study titled effectiveness Of INEC communication awareness Strategies in the 2023 general elections. A study of the South South residents of Nigeria. Effective communication strategy is important for the conduct and management of electoral process. Information, education and communication are effective tools for behavoural change especially in the efforts to reduce voter, apathy, violence and increase participation in the electoral process. The objectives of the study was to determine the level of INEC’s communication message raised awareness on voter registration. It was also to determine the extent to which INEC’s communications raised awareness regarding the identification of polling units and also to reveal the assessment or extent to which INEC’s communications raised awareness on how to cast the ballots. The survey research method was adopted for the study while questionnaire was used as data collection instrument. The 8,356,603 residents of the six 6 states capitals of the South south states were used as the population from where a sample size of 460 was drawn using the Taro Tamene formula. The purposive sampling technique was used for the study while simple percentage were employed in analyzing the collected data. Based on the analysis of data, finding revealed that INEC’s communicate messages raised the awareness of the people in the area of voter registration. INEC’s communication messages were not clear enough to the respondents in the area of knowledge of polling units identification. INEC’s communication. Based on the findings, the study recommended that INEC should sustain the communication messages in the area of voter registration and be more consistent about it. Another recommendation is that INEC’s communication messages be made more understandable increase knowledge on how to vote and reduce the trend of huge void votes during election. This paper focuses on elections and foreign democracy assistance to Nigeria in 2015-2019 Key lessons and challenges. The study combined historical and descriptive research methods. While the historical design provided a guide into Nigeria’s democratic journey, the descriptive method helped us explain clearly these impeding factors that have hindered foreign democratic assistance from falling short of the desired standard in the country. The data was gathered through secondary sources. The realistic theory of change by Anderson, a modification of Carols 1972 change model theory, was used as the framework of analysis. The study revealed that 1 Nigeria received democratic assistance between 2015 and 2019 from the US, UK, EU, and other major international partners engaging in democratic promotion. 2 In spite of billions of dollars received as foreign democratic assistance, her political development has remained gloomy. 3 International promoters of democracy in Nigeria have clearly defined objectives with their philanthropic and international assistance for democratic transition, but in a bid to promote democracy, in the context of globalization promoting a free market economy and favourable investment opportunities for their multinational corporations. Lastly, the result shows some key lessons and implications that represent the immediate conclusions and recommendations of this study, such as that, for FDA to be successful, democratisation processes need to be driven from within and supported by at least some key domestic actors, achieve a balance between different goals, connect with the grass roots level, incorporate civil society, and so on. Thus, the election violence, rigging, manipulation, and imposition of candidates that characterised Nigerian elections do not in any way relate to or correlate with foreign democratic assistance objectives. The practice of voting enables people to choose their leader without any manipulation. The people can determine the leader who has confidence with him or her. Voting allows people to make a development of the government that is operational that can implement the favorable policies; to everyone and the investors (Maisel, 2016). Voting also will enable people to make a practice of their democratic rights. The development of sound policies also ensures the security of the citizens. The security of the citizens is ensured through policies such as gun policies that ensure that citizens do not effortlessly acquire them. Voting, on the other part, also ensures that citizens can remove those leaders that have got bad diplomatic relations with other countries. The removal of the leaders that practice dictatorial leadership is a significant decision that impacts the lives of many people and business investors. This article aims to demonstrate that the Lula government is faced with two major challenges in its effort to promote Brazil's economic and social development. Brazil's progressive forces need to commit, starting from the 2024 municipal elections, towards to elect the maximum number of mayors and councilors committed to Brazil's political, economic and social advances. These are the conditions to prevent, in 2026, right-wing extremists from regaining the Presidency of the Republic, expanding their participation in state governments and the National Congress and putting their nefarious anti-social and anti-national project into practice.
