My Reflection Of My Experience In The English Class
As a student that has been through the English W131 class, I feel entitled to share the tips and tricks, as well as my experiences, with you. Tracy's
class is un–like any other class you have ever taken or ever will take. I say this because I went into this class expecting an English class that was
taught exactly like my high school classes, but I was quickly and pleasantly surprised on how this English class was different.
Some of the work that you complete in the English W131 class will challenge you, but that's okay because that is what Tracy is trying to do. She is
trying to show you your strengths and weaknesses, so in the future you can work on your weaknesses while embracing your strengths. One of the
assignments that really taught me my strengths and weaknesses was the project 2 draft. We were to write a draft where we explained an issue in our
community that we felt strongly about, but within this paper we were not allowed to have stance on the topic. After reading some of the feedback
from this assignment I quickly saw that keeping stance out of my papers is extremely difficult for me, but it showed me an area that I need to work on
for the future. One of the assignments that I enjoyed doing was writing a where I'm from poem. This was a poem that told a short story about where

If I didn't have personal goals, I wouldn't be the person I am today. In this quote Ari says, "Everyone expected something from me. Something I just
couldn't give." This is said during a time where he his trying to figure out his life. He feels he has a lot on his plate, and everyone needs something
from him. His family is expecting him to take care of his new truck, make friends, and he is also expected to stay out of trouble and keep up his
grades as all teenagers have to do. Ari feels he has a lot on his plate as I do to. As a 14 years old girl, I have to keep my grades up, attend all my
sports practices, preform at my best during every game, be leaders to my younger siblings, go to my dance class and continue to stretch every
night. I sometimes do complain about these expectations my family and coaches have for me as well as the goals I have for myself. I am glad they
expect these things from me though, because it has helped me to become the young women I am today. Without my mom constantly telling me how
she expects me to act I wouldn't have simple things such as manners, common courtesy and positive social skills. If my coach didn't continue to push
me in my hockey practices and in games, I would not ever get closer to my dream of playing college hockey. The expectations placed upon me have
