Initiatives from government, providers and professional bodies to
improve the experiences of people with learning disability and

5. CQC „s Role in the Joint Programme
Some key points
• Tough enforcement of standards of quality and safety
(including staff suitability).
• The “model of care” is part of the inspection and
registration of relevant services.
• Revised “guidance on compliance” due in 2013 and linked
to revised regulations
• Chief Exec will continue the stakeholder group created for
our LD review and use it to shape our work.
• Mental Health Act Commissioners will continue to visit the
most vulnerable and work to protect their rights.
• Sharing information.
• (Also we have followed through in detail the
recommendations of the Serious Case review).
