hunt them for food. Others
burn their forest habitat to
make room for rice fields.

illegally, valuable rosewood
trees.

was named because of its
elegant white fur that flows over
its head and shoulders.
Population: It´s a critically
endangered species with an
estimated wild cottontop tamarin
population of just 6,000. The
main reason for the severe
decline is that they have lost
more than 75% of their
natural habitat to deforestation.
