Question Number : 1
Pre Writing
Preparing a scratch outline
1. Poor academic performance
- lost interest in study
skipping classes
2. High crime rates
- Drug
- Violent crime
- Gang fight
- Bully
3. Poor decision making
- unable to decide good / bad
- immature thinking
- mixing with wrong group of friends
4. I disagree that society should accept that children mature at younger age these
days and should adjust the law accordingly .
Children Nowadays
Nowadays children under 18 are given too much of freedom from their
parents, that they start making their own decisions at a younger and misuse their
fundamental right of freedom which make the society worried about. Problem
facing by societies include poor academic performance, high crime rates and
poor decision-making.
Firstly, when children claims that they have become a young adults,
they start making their own decision which leads them to poor academic
performance. This is because their mind is always diverted towards other things
than in their studies. They easily lose interest in their education as they start
giving attention to other useless things and also make decisions in school that
decrease their performance. They cannot concentrate anymore due to the
distraction of these activities, which actually affect their future. They choose to go
to school or absent whenever they wish to. Moreover in class they don’t follow
the lessons; instead they sit at the back and play around. Even at home as they
are given liberty, they desire go play outside with friends, or just sit in front of the
Internet chit chatting, playing games or spending time on Facebook and their
parents think that they are doing good at school.
Secondly, you have the crime rates that keep on increasing day by
day. Some of the time, it happens due to juvenile delinquency because the
parents grant too much freedom that after a certain time they can no more handle
the child. As for instance, they authorize their children who are still under the age
of eighteen as they think that the child have become mature enough to make their
own rules in the house. So, once the child is out of control, they start by having
bad influence which starts by bad manner, swearing at people, and then continue
by bullying the one younger than them. Even after these complaints come to the
parents and they don’t react and that’s how the child get more and more violent
and starts smoking, taking drugs, continuing with stealing and after that, no
wonder that they won’t commit murders as well. If they are given a certain limit to
freedom, only then they can be termed as a mature person as from the age of
fifteen when they will be taking good decision that will lead them to a successful
life.
Lastly, the children tend to make bad decision in their life even after
reaching at an elder age like twenty-one years old. This is because when they
keep on depending on their parents even after reaching the age of eighteen.
After high school they are not able to decide by themselves what to do whether
go to university or look for a job; if going to university they are stuck on what
course to undertake like they still need their parent to decide for them and if
happen that they decide by themselves, most of the times it’s wrong. So if they
are given the authorities to take their own decision at a younger age as for
instance at fifteen years old, they would have been even more mature when they
grow up and would make more unlikely better decision. As they would have
understand how difficult life is, that they have to make decision very wisely and
keep taking advice before acknowledging on it.
In conclusion , I strongly disagree with the statement children over 15
should be allowed to make decision about their lives without the inference of
their parents because they don’t really know the difficulties that a person have to
face throughout their life . Mahatma Ghandi state that “ The future is depends on
what we do in the present ”. Parents should make sure that their children are on
the right track to make them become successful.
