3. Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
The thing i liked most about my image and the reason that i picked it was because the
shape was a simple outline, and was straight forward in the sense of following and
getting the correct shapes to place over, this helped me develop my skills as i was
slowly moving on to more complex shapes and not rushing into it. The image only had
a few main shapes which i had to do however they turned out really well.
What would you improve if you did it again?
if i was to improve my image, the thing i would work on the most is getting the shapes
i did over, more accurate and more shaped rather than just sticking to the simple
circles, and ovals. I used the warping tool often with the shapes, however they still
were'nt as accurate as the orginal image and therefore didn't look as detailed when
i'd finished.

What did you like about your image?
My rotoscope i found turned out very well. The thing i liked most about my image was
that there were more than just the simple standard features to the face, and it had
more detail which allowed me to work on my skills and detail within the image.
What would you improve if you did it again?
I would improve this image by making sure all my rotoscoping was accurate and was
up to the best standard, rather than concerntrating on getting most of it done and
then not concertrating on the quality of the final piece. I would also like to chose a
different image which had more than just the face in,as i found the face a simple
subject and was little for me to base on.

What did you like about your image?
One of the main things i liked most about my film quote was beign able to interprate
the quote and find my own images, and text to include in my image. I thought this
helped my understanding of the quote more, and there allowed me to use more of
the ranges of tools depending on what image i chose to do. I chose a picture of 2 boys
in a field and then added text to it afterwards. I chose this image inparticular so that i
could have more things going on in the image rather than just one subject. I found
having more than 1 character gave more of a basing and a storyline.
What would you improve if you did it again?
The thing i would improve is using more of the techniques ans styles we'd been
showed in previous lessons and including them in my work pieces. I would definietly
deal with my timing better so that i had more time to give more detail to the image.
10. Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
i liked trying out the different types of text and different types of styles, as i will now
be able to include them in my future work to give it more detail. I liked to keep things
simple with my texts and to not go to overboard with the shaping and colour so i
chose a simple style with just a simple image in the background.
What would you improve if you did it again?
I would do more example of the texts, and for my final example i would maybe give
the text a little more detail and style to it.
12. Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
The thing i liked most about this image turnout was the fact that i kept it simple, and
didn't overfill it with effect, and so it looked more real, and nicer as if i was to put
more effects on it and colour it may look overpowered.
What would you improve if you did it again?
The only thing i would improve with my image is the threshold. This didnt go exactly
how i planned it to, and turned most of the image black which then caused problems
when i came to add colour as it didn't look as good and looked quite packed as most
of it was either black or in colour.
14. Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I liked how my image didn't have to much on the background ans you could clearly
see the images, and the order in which they were taken in which explained the
storyline quite clearly. My images included ones faken from both inside and outside
which gave it more of variation within the storyline.
What would you improve if you did it again?
I would improve my image by making the background relate more to the storyline
without necessarily changing the colour of the background colour.
22. Proposal
Dimensions
My book will be 9 slides, and will be landscape.
Story Overview
1:prince and his mother are talking about how he wants to find and marry a princess.
2: a princess knocks at the door and asks if she can go inside as theres a massive storm
3:prince lets her In and instantly takes a liking to her. His mither however is not very happy and not keen on
how well the prince and princess gets along so tries all she can to split them up
4:she places a little pea underneath 20 mattresses to try and catch the princess out as if she was a real princess
she would be able to feel the pea.
5: The princess feels the pea under the mattresses which proves she’s a real princess.
6:Mother is still not happy and is still hooked on the fact that she is not a real princess, another girl comes into
the story and then the mother tries to make her son like her though she’s not his type and something doesn’t
seem right about the whole situation
7:prince and the princess get married and then the mother leaves the story as she’s not giving them her
blessing.
Export Format
JPEG
Advantages: An advantage of exporting it in a JPEG is that is a small file size and therefore it will not take as
much storage room. Another advantage is that it’s a full colour transition and the quality is very high with little
compression.
Disadvantages: A disadvantage of this format is it doesn’t not support transparency and It also less suitable for
working with text or monochrome
23. Deadline
15/6/16
Audience
My childrens book will be aimed at those 3-8. This is due to the storyline as its
really complex and will be to young for those who are older. At the same time I
have the interest of the older ones for parents aswell as they’re the ones who will
be reading it. It is based in Edinburgh castle however it will not only be available
within Scotland, so the audience within location will be world wide. It can apeal to
both male and female however it is mostly based upon a prince and princess so
mostly will be viewed by younger girls.
Production Methods
The mehods I will use to produce my pges in my book are rotoscoping, text styles,
and shapes. This is because they are easy to get the correct shape, and look of
characters for a childrens book. For example shapes are a good way to get the look
as they’re just simple and they don’t have to much detail in them so its easier for a
child to understand.
24. What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work?
I like the story that you have chosen, I gives a good
message to the reader that you should not always
listen to other people and that you are the only one
that knows truly how you feel.
You explained why you sill be using shapes to
create your images as it gives a simple yet affective
outcome.
You could add more detail to your production
method, such as what text you are planning to use
(serif/san serif) and why.
What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been
further developed?
I like that you have included different
interoperations of princesses to help you when it
comes to creating your own.
I also like that you have included many location
pictures onto your mood board.
To help improve you could include some cartoon
images of castles for inspiration.
Also add a mind map when finished.
25. What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work?
One strength that I can see clearly is that she has
planned out each slide she will be creating well and
also in detail so that she can plan ahead and make
time for herself by creating 9 slides because tis
means she can make each slide very good quality
and wont have to rush her work.
This means she wont be consumed by time.
Also another strength is that all of her work is very
detailed and clearly well understood by herself and
the viewer.
She also shows good knowledge of understanding
about the JPEG part with the disadvantage and
advantages well explained.
The areas of the proposal that could have further
work on them is just spelling, which can easily be
corrected by spell check.
May need to add a couple of more numbers to the
storyline to make it 9 not 7 so that then she will be
finally planned ahead and finished with her ideas
and can move on.
One more area where it could use further work is
adding in her initial ideas and that I s all from Lucy
Gould. Xox
What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been
further developed?
The mood board is very clear and links well to your
ides and is also very colourful so will appeal well to
children.
Maybe adding a few more images to make the
page more full but there are no other father
development needed.
26. What are the strengths of the proposal? What areas of the proposal need further work?
The strengths of the proposal are you have planned
out each page/slide of the book and have defined
what is going to happen in that page. You have
also clearly shown why you have picked the
production method and how it will affect your target
audience., you have defined your audience and the
geo/demographic of the audience.
You could add a little more detail into the
production method like the text you might use in the
book.
What are the strengths of the idea generation? What areas of idea generation could have been
further developed?
The strength of the idea generation is it shows the
type of character you would use and the look of the
book as well as the setting of the story.
You could add a mind map to idea generation and
add a few more images to show how the other
characters might look, like the mother in the story,
to show the different characters styles in the story.
27. Feedback Summary
Sum up your feedback.
A common piece of feedback that has occurred from all 3, are that ive planned out my
slides well and know what I will be doing with my story when it comes to
characters, storlyine and locations etc.. It is overall positive feedback however states I
need to add my idea generation in.
Which parts of your feedback do you agree with and why?
I agree with having to add more detail into my production method and to state how
which style of texts ill be using and why. This will help me develop my story and get a
better insight of what it’ll look like t the end.
Which parts of your feedback do you disagree with and why?
