Becoming A Better Leader At The Workplace
Few really understand how to become one of the best leaders, although leadership - everyone knows

Surround yourself with smart people. The best leaders out there all know one thing: when you've got
the best people, you'll elevate everything. Don't think you need to be the smartest person in the
company. Far from it. You need to be a visionary who sees greatness. Use that and find the best
colleagues to surround yourself with.
Always remain approachable. Many people think that the best way to let everyone know who is boss
is by scaring and intimidating others. That is not the right path, and you will be loathe to find
success that way. Be sure to let coworkers understand that you're always there to talk to.
Finish what you start. Don't be the kind of business leader that is always giving motivational
speeches. Whenever you have a realistic chance of closing out the execution of a stated goal,
personally see that it gets done. That will tell clients and colleagues that you mean business. It also
sets the bar for what you expect of those under you.
Delegate responsibilities whenever possible. Showing trust in your employees gives them confidence
in their own abilities. It will also inspire confidence in your ability to lead. Micromanaging your
employees is exhausting for your and demotivating to your employees. Offer support and help them
deal with any problems that may come up.
Learn to take responsibility for things, even those that are not your fault. A great leader understands
that when the team fails, everyone fails. Instead of placing blame on individual members of the team,
a great leader will know that something about the way he leads the team may be the reason for the

Always communicate with your team. Be sure they know of any changes and news in plans. Poor
communication with people in your group will harm the team and ultimately hurt you from
accomplishing goals that have been set. Not communicating well also makes you appear
incompetent and aloof.
Befriend a trustworthy person in the same business field. This person will be invaluable when you
have an idea and you want to make sure it is actually viable. You will, of course, have to be available
to your "business buddy," as well, as this sort of relationship is a two-way street.
Make sure that you are approachable. Spend time with your employees. Let them come to you with
their concerns. If you have a busy find, try and schedule an hour or two when you can handle
interruptions. Make sure your employees know that they should feel comfortable approaching you
with any concerns or questions during these hours.

Be passionate about your work. You employees look up to you to show enthusiasm about work. If you
do this, your positive feelings spread to the employees who will also feel passionate about their

Try not to show favoritism. Give everyone show and respect a willingness to hear them out. One sign
of a good leader is treating others how you want to be treated. Stand by your treat and promises

Lots of effective leaders focus on a single question. Do you feel like you're comfortable? You may not
