2. Child mortality facts
Child mortality or child death, refers the death of infants and children under five
being very tragic and emotional.
Some 21,000 children die every day around the world. That is equivalent to: 1
child dying every 4 seconds. 14 children dying every minute(globalissues.org).
Rural areas are more likely to have child deaths than the urban areas.
Around 70% of early child deaths are due to conditions that could be prevented or
treated with access to simple, affordable interventions.(WHO)
One third of the child deaths are due to the poor nutrition and non sanitized water.
