4. A lot of people get caught
Up in the
“How the Book of Mormon
was translated.”
Instead of the asking Why.
5. Why did Joseph Smith
translate
Of the Book of Mormon ?
Why did the Smiths, Knights, Martin Harris,Josiah Stoal,
Oliver Cowdery, and the Whitmers aid in the work?
6. What makes you want to be part of
the gospel of Jesus Christ?
7. I didn’t want to be a missionary
at 18, but I want
To be a missionary now.
What changed?
8. 3 Reasons:

He knows are name
We Hear Him
1. We feel the POWER of the book of Mormon,
Scriptures, and general conference talks.
1. We want others to have the same knowledge
9. Why did Joseph Smith
translate
Of the Book of Mormon ?
Why did the Smiths, Knights, Martin Harris,Josiah Stoal,
Oliver Cowdery, and the Whitmers aid in the work?
10. He saw the Plan.
He knew Jesus.
Joseph met with Moroni 22 times.

11. Power of the Book of
Mormon.
Another Testament of Jesus
Christ.
12. Power of the Book of Mormon.
The Book of Mormon is the keystone in our
witness of Jesus Christ, who is Himself the cornerstone of everything we do.
It bears witness of His reality with power and clarity…
It broadens our understanding of the doctrines of salvation. T
he book of Mormon...was written for our day.
In (it) we find a pattern for preparing for the Second Coming…
(The) Book of Mormon teaches us truth (and) bears testimony of Jesus Christ…
But there is something more.
There is POWER in (it)
which will begin to flow into your lives the moment you begin a serious study of the book.
You will find greater power to resist temptation. You will find the power to avoid deception.
You will find the power to stay on the strait and narrow path.
-Ezra T. benson, 1986
13. POWER:
The very first word in the Doctrine and Covenants is hearken.12 It means “to listen with the intent to
obey.”13 To hearken means to “hear Him”—to hear what the Savior says and then to heed His counsel. In
those two words—“Hear Him”—God gives us the pattern for success, happiness, and joy in this life. We
are to hear the words of the Lord, hearkento them, and heed what He has told us!
What will happen as you more intentionally hear, hearken, and heed what the Savior has said and what He
is saying now through His prophets? I promise that you will be blessed with additional power to deal with
temptation, struggles, and weakness. I promise miracles in your marriage, family relationships, and daily
work.
And I promise
that your capacity to feel joy will increase even if turbulence increases in your life.
- President Nelson
