Game time is forfeit time – please ensure you have enough rostered
players present prior to the start of your scheduled contest.
Only a team’s captain may confer with the officials.
All players must present their valid Northeastern University issued
Husky Card in order to play.
All roster management is done via the IMLeagues platform.
After the season’s schedule is published, regular season games will
not be rescheduled at a team’s request.
4. Carter Air Structure (Bubble) Rules

Enter and exit ONLY through the revolving doors located on Columbus
Ave.
Only ONE person may enter the doors at a time.
In order to enter the structure, you must present your Husky Card.
Emergency Exits should be used only in the case of an emergency.
Improper use of the emergency exits will result in ejection from the game, suspension
from all intramural programming, referral to NUPD and O.S.C.C.R.
When an emergency is declared, all users are expected to follow and
comply with any reasonable direction given by authorized personnel.
No bikes, scooters, long boards or other similar items in the structure.
The air structure has a max capacity of 149 occupants.
Teams and participants will only be permitted into the structure 15 minutes prior to their
game. Players will have to wait outside the Bubble until it is time for their team to enter.
(Please plan accordingly).
No metal spikes are allowed.
5. Teams & Players

All games are played in the Carter Air Structure and will consist of 2 halves lasting 20-
minutes each
Must have valid Northeastern ID in order to participate
7 players may be on the field at a time
1 player must be a goalie
Shin-guards are recommended but they are not required.
A minimum of 5 players must be present to avoid a forfeit
Players must wear athletic clothing and tennis shoes, turf shoes, soccer cleats or rubber
soled one-piece athletic shoes.
Metal spikes and any footwear deemed dangerous by the Intramural Supervisor will
not be allowed
Co-rec teams must have no more than 1 more male than female player
on the field at all times.
6. The Regular Season & Playoffs

Regular season games will not be rescheduled
Losing By Default:
If a team can not play and contacts the intramural department to indicate this and fills
out the Default Form on the Campus Recreation Website, they will lose by default.
Team will not lose the forfeit bond.
Playoffs:
The top team in each league will advance to the playoffs
If two teams are tied in the standings the following will be used to determine who will
advance:
Sportsmanship
Forfeited games
Head-to-head record
Point differential

7. Substitutions & Timeouts

Teams may substitute players on goal kicks, corner kicks, timeouts and
after goals
Players must remain in their designated areas until an official indicates
they may enter play
Each team may call one timeout per half
With less than two minutes remaining in the game no substitutions or
timeouts will be permitted
8. Goal Keepers

Goal keepers may use their hands inside the designated goalie box
Keepers may not throw the ball over midfield in the air
Keepers may not dropkick or punt the ball
Keepers may not cross midfield
Keepers may not score
Teams must have a goal keeper at all times
Keepers may not be pulled and replaced with a field player
9. In the Box Before the Ball Penalty

There is no offsides, however, no offensive players may enter the goalie
box before the ball enters
Violation of this rule will result in an indirect kick for the defense
Defensive players may enter the box anytime
10. Out of Bounds

The entirety of the ball must cross the entirety of the line for
the ball to be considered out
The ball is considered out if it touches one of the sideline
cones
Balls that go out on the sidelines will be put back into play
via kick-in
Balls that go out on the end line will be put back into play via
a goal kick or corner kick
11. Yellow Cards

There is absolutely no sliding
A slide will result in an automatic yellow card
Unsportsmanlike behavior will result in an automatic yellow card
Captains may question rule interpretations but not judgment calls
Yellow cards carry a two-minute power play penalty
This may be extended to five minutes at the discretion of the official
Player may reenter the game on the first dead ball after 2 minutes or
after a goal is scored against their team
12. Red Cards

A second yellow card constitutes a red card
One serious violation will result in a red card
Red cards carry an automatic ejection from the game and the facility
Teams must play short a player for the remainder of the match
Red cards will be issued for the following
Unsporting or violent conduct
Spitting
A second yellow card
Using insulting, offensive or abusive language
Leaving the bench area to enter the field
during a fight or altercation
Taunting
13. Sliding

There is absolutely no sliding permitted
All slides result in an automatic yellow card
Sliding into a player is a red card
After a slide, the ball is put back into play with a direct free kick
Goal Keepers may only come out hands first or to the side
14. Encroachment

All defensive players must yield three yards on all free kicks
Failure to do so will result in an encroachment penalty
Encroachment is punishable by yellow card
