RoughRiders to honor local student athletes
The Frisco RoughRiders Foundation to assist North Texas students.
Frisco, TX - Each year, the Frisco RoughRiders Foundation honors high school seniors
through their scholarship award program. Entering the sixth year of the program, the
RoughRiders Foundation has donated over $25,000 in scholarship monies to local
students.
High school seniors who have participated in at least one athletic activity during their
senior year are eligible for consideration for the 2008 scholarship awards. Each award is
for $1,000 toward the student’s college education costs.
Last year, the RoughRiders recognized students from Frisco ISD, Mesquite ISD, Garland ISD
and Denison ISD.
“The Frisco RoughRiders are honored to assist local students in their aspirations for higher
education,” said RoughRiders President/General Manager Scott Sonju. “The scholarship
program is a tremendous opportunity for the RoughRiders to support the community and
reward local student athletes for their positive contributions on the field and in the
classroom.”
