• CLO 4- Describe the role sport and leisure has to play
in a contemporary postmodern society.

  • 2. Assessment Overview • You must closely relate your work to the: – Course Learning Outcomes – HCT Graduate Outcomes • Participation 10% • ePortfolio 20% • Presentation 20% • Case Study 20% • Final Report 30%

Course Learning Outcomes • CLO 1- Describe the evolution of sport and leisure since the early twentieth century. • CLO 2- Describe issues that affect participation in both sport and leisure with specific reference to gender, nationality, age and socio - economic groups. • CLO 3- Evaluate the role of sport and leisure in developing the health of the nation. • CLO 4- Describe the role sport and leisure has to play in a contemporary postmodern society.
  • 4. HCT Graduate Outcomes • Communication and Information Literacy • Critical and Creative Thinking • Global Awareness and Citizenship • Technological Literacy • Self-Management and Independent Learning • Teamwork and Leadership • Vocational Competencies • Mathematical Literacy

  • 6. ePortfolio • ePortfolio 20% – Create an artefact – Submit it via BBLearn – Reflective essay (under exam conditions) • Action – Think about your possible artefact, its subject and medium and discuss this with your teacher
  • 7. Presentation • Presentation 20% – Face2Face – 10 minutes – Any subject agreed with your teacher – Submit presentation via BBLearn • Action – Think about a possible topic for your presentation and discuss this with your teacher

Case Study • Case Study 20% – Visit any sports and/or leisure provider in the UAE – Interview – Submit questionnaire via BBLearn – Reflective essay (under exam conditions) • Action – Think about a possible sports and/or leisure provider for your visit and discuss this with your teacher – Think about your approach: individually or in groups. Agree this with your teacher
  • 9. Final Report • Final Report 30% – Oral history project – Interview someone about change and continuity in sports and leisure practices in the UAE – Write up your findings – Submit report via BBLearn • Action – Identify a possible subject(s) and discuss this with your teacher
