Teenage pregnancy is a major issue in the Philippines, where the population is over 100 million and growing rapidly. Most young mothers are between 15-19 years old, as pregnancy can occur once a girl starts menstruating. However, many teen mothers are not physically or emotionally ready to care for a child. Teen pregnancies often result from lack of guidance, curiosity about sex, or acts of revenge, and can lead to neglect of the child if the teen parent cannot provide for their needs. This problem should be prevented by educating teen girls that motherhood is a big responsibility and they should wait until they are ready both mentally and financially to have children.

mother at our very young age? Why is
that there are many cases of TeenAge
Pregnancy?

3. Childbearing at a young age is one of the
issues that our country, Philippines is now
facing. Our country has a large number of
population over 100 million and still growing.
This is one of the major issues why our
economic is not growing that fast, because
the ratio of production and livelihood are less
than the number of populations. One of the
reasons why our population is still growing is
because of teen age pregnancy or young
motherhood. Most of our young mothers are
between the age of 15-19.Pregnancy can
take place after the start of the puberty.
One’s a girl started to have her monthly
period, pregnancy can take place.

4.  Most teenage girls don't plan to get pregnant,
but many do. Many says it’s just because of
curiosity, and some says just for experience
and flings, but some are rape victims. To be a
mother is a big responsibility, duties comes first
before fun. Being a mother is to provide
everything you can for the welfare of your child.
But, how can a teen mother be a great mother
when she’s not yet ready physically and
emotionally? Many teen parents do not have
the intellectual or emotional maturity that is
needed to provide for another life. Often, these
pregnancies are hidden for months resulting in
a lack of adequate prenatal care and
dangerous outcomes for the babies.

5. Sometimes, the result of teen age prenancy is that, some teen
parents are neglecting their child because they can’t provide the
child needs. Some that are not yet known by their parents, aborted
their child because of what might happen if the society will know.
But many young motherhood are keeping their child with them
because parents are supporting them ang they are welcomed by the
society. Some teens engaged in pre-marital sex with their
boyfriends, or some other guys they are hanging out and they called
it the one night stand. Maybe one of the reason why many are
young mothers is because of lack of guidance of their parents, or
maybe sometimes those girls who are making revenge to their
parents. There are many of reason why a girl can get pregnant at a
very young age. Teen age pregnancy are often associated with
social issues includinglower educational levels, higher rates
of poverty and less of knowledge regarding sex education, . Some
young motherhood are those who are studying highschool and
college, and are getting pregnant even without marraiged.

6.  This problem should be prevented, we teen
girls must know that being a young mother
is not for us in this very point of time. We
should wait until the day come that we
totally ready; physically, mentally,
emotionally, and are able to provide our
future children their needs. We should
always be reminded that having sex is only
for those married couple. I didn’t say that
being a young mother or a teenage mother
is not good. It’s just that being a mother
should be in the right time. Be careful in our
every action. Think first before you we
make a move.
