Mrs. Hurd Art Rm 201/Lab 109
This class is an elective. You should be in here
because you want to be.
It’s expensive.
FCHS HAS ZERO TOLERANCE FOR THEFT! Lost, stolen, or broken materials will be
replaced by those responsible or will be billed, by the school, to the person
responsible (Discretion left up to Mrs. Hurd & FCHS). DO NOT WASTE SUPPLIES.
Students will also be written up and charged for destruction of school property.
Destruction of school property also includes writing/drawing on desks and other
art materials and/or messes left un-cleaned. Every day you are responsible for
cleaning up your supplies, work area, and pushing in your chair. Failure to do so
will result in a write up.
- Keep hands and feet to yourself. Do
not “play” with art supplies. If you don’t have anything nice to say then keep it to
yourself. Everyone should try to maintain a positive, safe, clean environment in
the artroom.
PHONES- NO snapchat No Selfies/Photos No Excessive Texting/Gaming
You need to be
present, on time, and participate in class during
projects, sketchbook assignments or
worksheets; as well as discussions and power
point presentations. All students receive daily
participation grades. Use class time wisely.
Goofing off and sleeping will not be tolerated.
Below behaviors equal zero participation points
and a possible write up:
1. Not working in class
2. Foul Language /disruptiveness
/argumentative /excessive talking/ not
staying in seat
3. Leaving a mess or supplies out
4. Not having required art materials
(pencil, black ink pen, permanent
marker, sketchbook, homework)
5. 3 tardies
6. Not pushing in seats
Students receive 3 bathroom
passes a semester and 3 “Leave me alone”
Passes. Student must present pass to Mrs.
Hurd. Passes must have name and date on
them. Passes are not to be shared.
- Arrive to class on time, login, begin working
quietly. Check the board for assignments and due dates. Attendance will be
taken. Remain focused on your artwork while sitting next to peers and using
computers. Do not talk without permission during instruction time. Pay attention
during lectures. Every day you will receive a participation grade. The only way to
get out of not being on task is to present the “leave me alone” pass.
Everyone works at a different pace when it comes to art. Due
dates are established to ensure completion of curriculum. Art projects can and
sometimes will be expected to be took home to work on. Extensions on due dates
must be pre-arranged with Mrs. Hurd. If you are going above and beyond the
requirements and using class time wisely this will not be a problem. Otherwise
work will have points deducted each day late. Students are responsible for asking
Mrs. Hurd about make up work or making arrangements for extended time on
projects when absent.

Mrs. Hurd Art Rm 201/Lab 109
PassesSecond Semester:
To use cut out, name, date, and turn into Mrs. Hurd. These passes may not be shared with other students. After three,
passes count as tardies. DON’T LOOSE!
Theses passes may not be shared with other students. Passes maybe used in 1 of 2 ways. #1 you may use this pass to have
1 free class where you choose not to participate. You will not get an extension & are still responsible for getting work
done on time. If you are caught not participating you will need to cut out pass, name, date, and turn it into Mrs. Hurd. If
all your passes are used up and you are not participating you may receive a zero for that day, and/or a write up. You may
not distract others from working when you choose not to work or do something other than a class project.
#2 IF NOT USED this pass can add 10 points to any project.
