SHORT PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY
Nelly Dimitrova holds a Master in Economics and Arts Management degree from Plovdiv
State University in Bulgaria. During her studies, she was granted a prestigious research
scholarship by the Council of Europe to undertake a new and innovative cultural project
that was released in 2000 with the Interarts Observatory in Spain.
She has additional training in the field of Arts and Culture Management from the University
of Jyväskylä (Finland), the National Conservatory of Moscow (Russia), the International
Summer Academy on Arts Management – (Venice, Italy) and at the Negev Institute (Israel).
In 2002, Nelly Dimitrova settled in Montreal where she obtained a diploma in Music
Business Administration from Trebas Institute, Montreal, followed by a professional
certificate from the Film Music Institute, New York.
Her professional competence and experience in the music industry includes music
publishing and licensing, copyrights and royalties, administration and artist management.
She has worked for the Open Society Institute in Hungary, as well as for Atma Classique
Records and Touch Tunes Music Corporation.
Today, Nelly Dimitrova is a manager of Janijam Music and Justin Time Publishing –
divisions of Justin Time Records (www.justin-time.com). She is the administrative director
of the Montreal Chamber Music Society (www.smcm.ca) and a teacher at Trebas Institute
(www.trebas.com)and Vanier College in Montreal. She is also a guest speaker at the career
orientation center of McGill Music Conservatory in Montreal.
Nelly Dimitrova has been published in the Canadian Journal of Communication, Volume
27and The Music Career Development Newsletter, McGill University.
