1. Lucy Sarneel Lucy Sarneel is a Dutch jeweller and mother she was born in 1961. Her work is that mostly of traditional Dutch costume jewellery. “To me a jewel represents a place in the world in which one can loose oneself like in the sparkling of adiamond or the careful observation of little plants or moss. The alienation that results from the competition between ‘the natural’ and the ‘artificial’ is an aspectI try to give form to in my jewels.Although a jewel is a small object it can be a world of thoughts.”
2. ring This piece is a lovely ring ,with a kind of rounded effect to the top part. looks as if there should be a stone of some sorts in it but there is not. the ring seems to be well balanced with the coined part been directly in the middle of the band .the texture of the ring seems to be matted giving it a bit of a rougher look but the inside of the ring appears to have a high polish to it so it looks comfortable.
3. Neckpiece This piece is a neckpiece. this is not something your used to seeing in a store, or anywhere for that matter think this piece was made more for a play or something of that sorts. The piece is made of some sort of red stone really giving it a loud and aggressive look. the piece doesn't look comfortable because of all the jagged stones! Piece is a symmetrical. The shape of the piece really portrays something aggressive .
4. Earrings These are earrings they are meant for more traditional people they have a Dutch influence in the style.ear ring seams to be symmetrical except the one side hangs down a little more than the other but that could just be because its been moved around. There is repetition in the piece with the patterns giving it a relaxed feel. good variety in different products been used cotton and metal. Piece looks very feminine with the purple colour there are a few different textures here top part of the piece is that of a high polish and the bottom two ovals are cotton like.
6. Katie Lees Katie lees is British jeweller she graduated at the Glasgow school of art industrial surroundings are the things that influence her work.
7. Necklace This is a necklace it was made by recycled metal. The piece looks heavy to me. In a way it tapers but threw the use of different amounts of pieces the piece seems to be very out there and dominant. The dark grey colour gives the piece a kind of negative feel in some sense. The space between the pieces make it seem out of shape and uncomfortable.
8. ring This piece is a ring the design has sharp corners and dose not seem comfortable at all. The ring dose not seem to have a good centre of gravity the one part looks to make it seem very top heavy. Shape of ring makes it appear to have sort of industrial feel. Ring is out of proportion and the design doesn't seem to make much sense. the pieces colouring gives it a sad gothic like feel.
9. ring This piece is a ring. the design is very interesting with all different shapes coming together, there is plenty of space in-between the metal little pieces giving it a strange kind of shape. The ring seems to be symmetrical ring is out of proportion with the top part been to heavy for the band the colour gives the ring a neutral feel texture seems to be smooth.
