As you’ve seen from my collegues’ analyses, College Hype is doing remarkably well. As a result, the company’s objective over the next few years is to expand its business. To do this it has established aggressive goals to increase its customer base. At present, the company is finalizing a contract with 60 sporting goods stores in the area to be their exclusive Supplier of printed T-shirts. Unfortunately, we cannot give any additional information on this due to confidentiality issues. Also, The company has started a Warm Calling campaign. In case anyone is unfamiliar with “warm calling”, that’s when a company asks current customers for contact information of possible referrals. Then they use the contact information to pursue new customers. To aid in this campaign, the company recently hired 3 co-op students to man their new customer service call center. These students will field calls from current customers regarding ordering and services questions. This will free up time for the sales force to make more warm calls. Additionally, the company plans to launch a custom printing website similar to the customink.com website where customers can go online and design their own shirts. They design, order and pay for their t-shirts completely online. Finally, the company is planning to design its own line of apparel. They hope to use the seasonal downtime of December and January to produce a substantial amount of product and begin marketing the line next year.
