what is education Essay
What is education?
What are the challenges facing those who provide it?
Education is a crucial part of life, it influences the way people think, speak, talk, write and react to
the world around them. However, education is much more than just an influence, it is a part of life
itself. Throughout the past century, education has dramatically called upon change and variation,
with new technology, science, and both ethical and cultural values making way. Hence, education
can really only be defined by its time and place. This means that as educators, we need to continually
update our qualifications and skills to be in equilibrium with the constant changes that are happening
around us, which is a challenge all educators face (Dusseldorp 1998)....show more content...
Moreover, with new fields of work constantly being created, there is a large demand for people with
the right qualifications and skills (Kalantzis 1998). Finding the right people with such skills can be a
hard task, unless educational institutions such as schools, tafes and universities are continually
updating the subjects they teach and their teaching methods (Dusseldorp 1998).
Along with changing careers is technology, the most rapidly developing resource on the planet.
According to Australian Bureau of Statistics, 66% of Australian households have access to at least
one computer at home and over 72% of households have access to mobile phones. Quality Education
Data have also surveyed that just over 90% of school teachers feel "unprepared" to effectively use
technology. This statistic really concretes a point; educators are not keeping up with technology,
and in consequence are slowing down the ability for children to gain experience with technology.
Today we live in a world that solely relies on technology, and not being able to effectively use this
technology can be a real problem. As technology changes more and more, educators will only find it
harder to keep their skills up–to–date unless they are consistent in keeping up with the move.
Education also strives to imitate and 'mirror' the ways society works, through both structure and
organisation (McBurney–Fry 2002). It slowly prepares children to face the reality of adult life where
there will be winners and

How Education Has Impacted My Life Essay
What is education? According to Webster's Dictionary education is defined as, (noun) 1: the action
or process of being educating or of being educated, 2: the field of study that deals mainly with
methods of teaching and learning in schools. What does education provide for us? How important is
education in today's society?
Education is the very foundation in which we as individuals grow, and formulate the knowledge we
gain through life into meaningful ways of adapting to the world.
Education is very important in the sense that in today's society, there is not much success without
education. Education allows us to grow and learn intellectually. It gives us the ability to enhance our
perception of the world as we see it, and construct our...show more content...
Up until I got into high school. I actually enjoyed school prior to my transition into high school. I
was a B student and quite happy with a 3.0 GPA. At the time, I really did not give my education
much thought. In other words, I did not think about my future then, and education had little value
in the great scheme of life. However, I still enjoyed school, and had perfect attendance not missing
a day unless it was absolutely a must. Unless I had a rare case of some unforeseen sickness as to
keep from infecting others with some viscous illness I was suffering from at the time. It was not
until I made the big move into that hierarchy of education that really changed my mind. This new
experience of education was so different, so terrifying, so difficult, and overwhelming that I felt
there was nothing else to do, but stop attending. I failed so miserably bad it cracked and crumbled
the very foundation in which I spent the last nine years constructing. Without this foundation, I was
nothing, I was stupid, and had nothing to offer.
This caused much heartache for several years to come. This also triggered the biggest regret of my
entire life, along with feeding a horrible addiction that began with marijuana and ended with
methamphetamines. Had I stayed in the game, and not thrown in the towel, I would have
graduated a year ahead of all my friends. I would have been primed and ready for the world at the
ripe age of seventeen. This sent me into an

Essay on Lifelong Learning
Lifelong learning
Lifelong learning is the continuous building of skills and knowledge throughout the life of an
individual. The first characteristic of lifelong learning is that it encompasses both formal and
non–formal/informal types of education and training. Formal learning includes the hierarchically
structured school system that runs from primary school through the university and organized
school–like programs created in business for technical and professional training. Whereas informal
learning describes a lifelong process whereby individuals acquire attitudes, values, skills and
knowledge from daily experience and the educational influences and resources in his or her
environment, from family and neighbors, from work and play,...show more content...
The computer industry is a growing field that will never stay the same as it was when it started.
We will always need additional learning to be able to keep our jobs or move up on the corporate
ladder. We can learn about these changes by going back to school, going to workshops, or on the
job training if it is available. These opportunities are tools that will help you learn more about your
job. The skills that you learn at one job will help you advance in that position or get you another
position with that company or another company. For example,
If you we are tired of being at that same died end job make that change and go back to school to get
that additional education to pursue your dream that you have. Working a job and having a career
are two different things. After spend some years in the work force I decided to further my
education. I wanted a career that I can advance in and learn more.
The process of designing a lifelong learning plan begins with putting it in writing. This plan,
sometimes called a learning contract, must be a dynamic process intended to provide structure in an
unstructured environment – known as everyday life.
Lifelong learning exists within this world, allowing learners the freedom to enroll in formal
continuing education programs or self–directed learning such as learning how to garden or play an
instrument, as examples. A personal learning plan or learning contract should focus on the following

Education Makes Life Better! Essay
Acquiring education is one of the most critical aspects of a person's life. It should be seen as vital
as the air we breathe. The key to a healthy mind and a successful person is learning. "Without
education, you're not going anywhere in this world" is a famous quote by Malcolm X. His quote
reiterates that the competitive world makes it essential for us to have a proper education since it will
serve as our weapon to conquer the world. Education will help a person grow as an individual
because a highly knowledgeable person will have a better grip on handling any problem that
comes his or her way. Literacy is the foundation of what we are as individuals. Every decision we
make, as well as our thought process, is the basis of what we know....show more content...
The lack of motivation and family values, as well as student responsibility, has created this crisis in
the education system. In addition, insufficient funding of schools along with quality teachers that are
retiring are some of the problems we encounter in the education system. In some parts of the United
States, there is a lack of adequate access to materials for reading and writing due to budget
constraints. In Allen D. Kanner's article, "Today's Class Brought to You By..." he mentioned that
with the baby boomers retiring, and a high turnover among new teachers, who are asked to teach
subjects they are not properly trained for, are causing difficult classroom situations (280). Similarly,
Governor Jerry Brown's statement last January 11 pointed out that K–12 education has 'borne the
brunt' of the state's budget cuts with more than $18 billion in cuts over the last three years. This
resulted in larger class sizes, programs are cut, and over 30,000 educators laid off. These teachers
are very valuable in our society because they provide our youth with the knowledge and social
experiences that they will use to better their future and the future of the entire world. As a student, I
have suffered the consequences of triple digit fee increases and the lack of available classes offered.
The high cost of education has put the burden not only on the students, and many of their parents,
but educators, as

Education Is Important For Our Lives
Education is very important for our lives. Without education society wouldn't be able to function
the way that it is right now. Education has taught us a lot of vauable lessons that we use in our
everyday life. Lessons such as math, reading and writing. The ones who teach us are Educators,
teachers do not get paid as highly as they should. Is As an aspired educator, I believe that teachers
should be paid higher salary than what they receive now. Educators are the ones who teach us all
of the necessary things that we use everyday to succeed in life. Without Educators how would we
learn? These educators are doing what they love which is caring for our brains to wake up
everyday and teach us the same lessons that they have been teaching years after years. After
college I plan on becoming a teacher. Being a teacher has always been something been something
that I have always wanted to do.I knew I was made to become a teacher, when I was a child I
always said that was what I wanted to be when I grew up.In A Life Beyond Do What You Love
Gordon Marion talks a lot about whether we should do what we love or do what we find most
meaningful to us, by using different scenario 's. For me being an educator is both what I love and
find most meaningful. Becoming a teacher is very important to me but being a teacher has its pros
and cons. To start my journey as becoming a teacher, I have been working in childcare for the past

You can't make it through life without education No human being is able to survive without
education. Education tells people how to think, how to work properly, and how to make decisions.
The better your education, the more choices and opportunities you are going to have in life. With
that being said, you cannot make it through life without an education. Three reasons why you
should get a good education are because you'll make more money, you'll live life with a strong sense
of pride, and you'll have more freedom later on in life.
The first obvious reason to why life without an education is not a good idea is because you make

It's like a reward because it shows that a person has paid their dues to society. Many people spend
their days with their new found freedom by traveling, downsizing their homes, volunteering, and
getting social by joining clubs or doing other activities. When people work they have vacation time
off, but not nearly enough time to do some extensive traveling. After retirement people can use their
time to explore the entire country or even other countries. When a person retires chances are their
children are grown and have moved out of their homes. This is why many retired people chose to
downsize their homes to save on their expenses. Many retired people volunteer themselves for
different organizations to keep busy. Lastly, many retired people join clubs to stay social with other
retirees.
In conclusion, all human beings should get a good education because without one chances are you
won't be successful and won't live a successful happy life. An education leads a person to many
open doors of successful opportunities. With an education a person can encounter a great job
with a good paying income, a proud prideful feeling for being so smart, and a relaxing life full of
freedom and joy after the hard work has been paid off. A person receives so much more out of life
by getting a good education, which is why you can't live life without

How Education Has Changed My Life
Education has been a part of my life ever since I was born. My mother is a teacher, and I have
always been in her classroom, and seeing her teaching kids is something I feel I knew I wanted to
do ever since I was little. As I grew older, I had a rough time in school. I was identified with a
learning disability in the fourth grade which helped me become successful and also made school
difficult too. The impact education has had on my life is why I want to become a teacher.
My mother has been a teacher for over 25 years, and is still going. When I was little, around the
ages of three–four, I would go into her classroom to 'visit' her class. Even as time progressed I
would go and watch her in the classroom, and eventually went to the same school she taught at. My
mother would bring books home that she did not need anymore and other classroom supplies for
me to play school. I would play school with my imaginary students, pretending I was the teacher and
they were my 'perfect classroom of students'. My 'classroom' eventually grew into friends who would
be my students, or my teachers. Talking with individuals who had my mother as a teacher opened
my eyes to understanding what an impact a teacher has on their student.
Growing up, school was a blur to me until about grade three. About first grade, until I was in fifth, I
would go into a small reading group with other students my age. I did not think much of it, but I did
not like missing out on classroom instruction. Expressing

Education Is Not Preparation For Life
John Dewey once said "Education is not preparation for life; Education is life itself." Meaning
that learning is an active process that should occur to enhance one 's living and understanding
thereof. When one only views education as a temporary thing they miss the big picture , and fail to
grasp the what life truly is. Paulo Freire believes in having the opportunity to discover for oneself
all that the world has to offer with the slight guidance from a teacher. He also says that "Education
must begin with the solution of the teacher–student contradiction, by recoiling the poles of the
contradiction so that both are simultaneously teachers and students." Freire introduces the idea that
we can and should all learn from each other, that no one person is ever higher in the world of
education. We all have a unique perspective and take on things, and teachers should allow us to
discover and interpret for ourselves.
Opposed to Freire 's view is the opinion that teachers should teach and students should simply
absorb what they are being told. They should listen and soak up as much knowledge as possible
but not question what they are learning. Many times teachers are able to get through more
material this way, and some would argue this makes us smarter as students. I myself have
experienced this way of learning in my AP Biology classroom last year. The course was very
rigorous and we did not have time to "problem pose", but rather had to take notes and hope to soak up

Education Is Not Preparation For Life
"Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself." If one accepts the quote by John
Dewey to be true, then depriving someone of their education is depriving them of their life.
Throughout the centuries, human beings have sought educational freedom. The United States of
America has become a symbol for all who seek life, or education rather. Millions of people come to
the United States, from less privileged countries, each year in hopes for a better education that is
coupled with a better life. Today, unfortunately, the U.S has lost its edge in the education department.

In the Special Education program, Special Ed for short, students are placed in smaller classes that
give them more time with the teacher, and the contents of these classes are much easier than the
standard classes. According to an article written by Harry and Anderson "approximately 29% of
the students in Special Ed programs are African Americans" (Harry, Anderson). Many politicians
blame racism to be a factor for such a large percent of African Americans in Special Ed. However,
a study done by the New York Times shows that the opposite is true. The study states that African
Americans are actually underrepresented in Special Ed programs and there should be more of them
in these programs. The study provides evidence that African Americans are more likely to develop
some sort of a learning disability due to their upbringing. The study provides compelling evidence
for its claim, "Thirty–six percent of inner–city black children have elevated levels of lead in their
blood" (Paul, Farkas). The figure for suburban white children is only 4 percent." Also, "black
children are about twice as likely to be born prematurely and three times more likely to suffer from
fetal alcohol syndrome (Paul, Farkas)". The study provides these claims as a support to why so
many African American develop learning disabilities. Assuming that all these claims are true, where
should one go from here? To many proponents of the Special Ed program, the answer is

Education Improve The Quality Of Life Essay
"How does Education Improve the Quality of one's Life?"
Introduction
Numerous studies have linked good education with a quality life. Their argument is that with a
good education, a person can generally assume all the comforts and associations of life. According
to UN, quality of life is a greatly subjective measure of happiness that is a significant component of
numerous monetary decisions (Michalos, 2017). Numerous factors that play a part excellence of life
vary according to a person's preferences. The factors include being financially secure, having job
satisfaction, leading a healthy life as well as being safe. All these, with quality education, they can be
accomplished, since education is an informative engagement in all aspects of life.
Education improves health and well–being of a person which is a measure of quality of life
It is important to note that education does not act on the well–being of a person in segregation from
other elements. Financial power is another significant element that interacts in numerous vital ways
with education as stimuli on well–being(Michalos, 2017). Nevertheless, education is of equal
significance.
Studies have shown that individuals with extra years of education tend to have better fitness and
well–being as well as healthier conducts. Learning is a significant mechanism for improving the
fitness and also the well–being of persons as it minimizes the desire for medical care, the allied
costs of dependency, lost remuneration as well as

In the words of John Dewey, "Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself, (2017)".
John Dewey was a revolutionary, a transformer, and a pioneer ahead of his time. In this character
analysis John Dewey's ideas of education and democracy will be scrutinized.
In the YouTube videos referring to John Dewey, it was discussed that in the not so distant past
society viewed "education in a sit and get mentality, (2012)". Educators put it in their student's head
that recalling facts rapidly was a sign of a good education. During my life time, this was true. I am
fifty–two years old and I can remember standing up as a class and the teacher rattling off
multiplication facts and we, the students, being called upon to give the answer as fast as possible.
If you got the answer right you stayed in the game, if not you had to sit down and listen to the
others. The last one standing was hailed as a hero for knowing their multiplication facts. I do not
remember any hands–on activities that would have taught the usefulness in understanding the
multiplication process. Currently, I work with special education students. I give them hands on, real
life experiences all day every day. If I did not, I cannot imagine them understanding let alone being
engaged in the activities.
However, this was not education in the eyes of John Dewey, who "gave the world the idea that
hands on, real life experiences drive creativity, growth, and learning (2012)". John Dewey felt that

Education: Preparation for Life
A common question that educators and parents alike ask is how and what to teach children. Before
one decides this, however, I believe it is important to know what your goals and purposes are. It is
important to know why the children are being educated. It is my firm belief that in a person's
educational experience, they should be prepared for more than just their career.
One of school's many functions is socialization. School is where many roles are taught, such as
gender roles. Students form a basis of how to exist within society. This can be in a negative way
but also in a positive way. I strongly believe that it is crucial that kids are taught early that they play

It is well known how important a good education is, especially since we have many societies in the
past that have let the masses go uneducated to compare to. Historically, to educate the common
people was to give them power, and that was feared. We take this for granted in ourmodern day
world where we often complain about too much homework. The knowledge that we are given
does, in fact, give us power to do so much to better ourselves and everyone else. A child from a
poor upbringing has the possibility of eventually discovering a cure for cancer, for example.
Education helps to tighten the gaps between social groups.
This brings me to another important aspect of an education: respect of diversity. I think that a
diverse school fulfills more educational goals. Students need to be taught to appreciate people of
different ethnic backgrounds, homes, personalities, types, etc. A student must be taught not to judge
others by these qualities and taught to not only tolerate diversity but to embrace it. I hope that as a
teacher I will be able to help students to open their eyes and minds to other types of people.
This is one of many things on my list of tasks that I hope to accomplish as a teacher. I want and
plan to mold students who can reason and think critically and not only in boundaries that are set. I
hope to be a teacher that makes a child question what they assume they know about the world

My Education
When speaking of the topic of who a person is and their past, a massive part of this includes their
educational background. Isn't this what forms people, their education? Of course, this doesn't always
have to refer to their organized education. Everything that a person learns is something that educates
them; these words being synonymous. Even something like first learning to tie your shoes is a part
of your education. Which method works better for you: loop, swoop, and pull, or bunny ears? I of
course, like any other well educated person, use loop, swoop, and pull; it's just the best way, no bias

actually stayed with through all of high school. When this short stint was finished, I graduated onto
Seward Elementary School, located in the same buildings as the Middle and High Schools, where I

How Education Has Changed My Life Essay

Education Is The Most Important Aspect Of Life
Philosophers say that life is one unending lesson, that the absorption of knowledge never ends. This
motto is superbly represented in all of the pieces that Ms. Frankenberg's Composition class has read,
watched, or listened to. Whether this education has been obvious or not, through a classroom or
another medium, it is usually delivered in lessons that are meant to last a lifetime. By dissecting all
of the aspects that can be taken from these educational situations, the credit goes to those who taught
them, and it is to those individuals whom we should give credit for the lesson. These lessons are
great additions to their "legacy resume", or the unofficial track of a person's accomplishments
throughout their lifetime. It is in this way that legacy can be discovered, even if legacy means
something different to each individual.
Education is the most important aspect of life; parents teach their children, teachers educate their
students, employers train their employees, and even the President of the United States is educated
on important details by his advisors. Education does not just mean a school and a professor, it means
any learning at anytime and anywhere. This reason is exactly why education is one of the most
crucial parts of any legacy. Education is universal, without it no one would even know what a
legacy is, much less retain the intelligence to create a legacy of their own. Throughout the years
knowledge has improved, more people made names for themselves in their

Education Is Life Essay

  • 1. what is education Essay What is education? What are the challenges facing those who provide it? Education is a crucial part of life, it influences the way people think, speak, talk, write and react to the world around them. However, education is much more than just an influence, it is a part of life itself. Throughout the past century, education has dramatically called upon change and variation, with new technology, science, and both ethical and cultural values making way. Hence, education can really only be defined by its time and place. This means that as educators, we need to continually update our qualifications and skills to be in equilibrium with the constant changes that are happening around us, which is a challenge all educators face (Dusseldorp 1998)....show more content... Moreover, with new fields of work constantly being created, there is a large demand for people with the right qualifications and skills (Kalantzis 1998). Finding the right people with such skills can be a hard task, unless educational institutions such as schools, tafes and universities are continually updating the subjects they teach and their teaching methods (Dusseldorp 1998). Along with changing careers is technology, the most rapidly developing resource on the planet. According to Australian Bureau of Statistics, 66% of Australian households have access to at least one computer at home and over 72% of households have access to mobile phones. Quality Education Data have also surveyed that just over 90% of school teachers feel "unprepared" to effectively use technology. This statistic really concretes a point; educators are not keeping up with technology, and in consequence are slowing down the ability for children to gain experience with technology. Today we live in a world that solely relies on technology, and not being able to effectively use this technology can be a real problem. As technology changes more and more, educators will only find it harder to keep their skills up–to–date unless they are consistent in keeping up with the move. Education also strives to imitate and 'mirror' the ways society works, through both structure and organisation (McBurney–Fry 2002). It slowly prepares children to face the reality of adult life where there will be winners and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. How Education Has Impacted My Life Essay What is education? According to Webster's Dictionary education is defined as, (noun) 1: the action or process of being educating or of being educated, 2: the field of study that deals mainly with methods of teaching and learning in schools. What does education provide for us? How important is education in today's society? Education is the very foundation in which we as individuals grow, and formulate the knowledge we gain through life into meaningful ways of adapting to the world. Education is very important in the sense that in today's society, there is not much success without education. Education allows us to grow and learn intellectually. It gives us the ability to enhance our perception of the world as we see it, and construct our...show more content... Up until I got into high school. I actually enjoyed school prior to my transition into high school. I was a B student and quite happy with a 3.0 GPA. At the time, I really did not give my education much thought. In other words, I did not think about my future then, and education had little value in the great scheme of life. However, I still enjoyed school, and had perfect attendance not missing a day unless it was absolutely a must. Unless I had a rare case of some unforeseen sickness as to keep from infecting others with some viscous illness I was suffering from at the time. It was not until I made the big move into that hierarchy of education that really changed my mind. This new experience of education was so different, so terrifying, so difficult, and overwhelming that I felt there was nothing else to do, but stop attending. I failed so miserably bad it cracked and crumbled the very foundation in which I spent the last nine years constructing. Without this foundation, I was nothing, I was stupid, and had nothing to offer. This caused much heartache for several years to come. This also triggered the biggest regret of my entire life, along with feeding a horrible addiction that began with marijuana and ended with methamphetamines. Had I stayed in the game, and not thrown in the towel, I would have graduated a year ahead of all my friends. I would have been primed and ready for the world at the ripe age of seventeen. • 3. Essay on Lifelong Learning Lifelong learning Lifelong learning is the continuous building of skills and knowledge throughout the life of an individual. The first characteristic of lifelong learning is that it encompasses both formal and non–formal/informal types of education and training. Formal learning includes the hierarchically structured school system that runs from primary school through the university and organized school–like programs created in business for technical and professional training. Whereas informal learning describes a lifelong process whereby individuals acquire attitudes, values, skills and knowledge from daily experience and the educational influences and resources in his or her environment, from family and neighbors, from work and play,...show more content... The computer industry is a growing field that will never stay the same as it was when it started. We will always need additional learning to be able to keep our jobs or move up on the corporate ladder. We can learn about these changes by going back to school, going to workshops, or on the job training if it is available. These opportunities are tools that will help you learn more about your job. The skills that you learn at one job will help you advance in that position or get you another position with that company or another company. For example, If you we are tired of being at that same died end job make that change and go back to school to get that additional education to pursue your dream that you have. Working a job and having a career are two different things. After spend some years in the work force I decided to further my education. I wanted a career that I can advance in and learn more. The process of designing a lifelong learning plan begins with putting it in writing. This plan, sometimes called a learning contract, must be a dynamic process intended to provide structure in an unstructured environment – known as everyday life. Lifelong learning exists within this world, allowing learners the freedom to enroll in formal continuing education programs or self–directed learning such as learning how to garden or play an instrument, as examples. A personal learning plan or learning contract should focus on the following four Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Education Makes Life Better! Essay Acquiring education is one of the most critical aspects of a person's life. It should be seen as vital as the air we breathe. The key to a healthy mind and a successful person is learning. "Without education, you're not going anywhere in this world" is a famous quote by Malcolm X. His quote reiterates that the competitive world makes it essential for us to have a proper education since it will serve as our weapon to conquer the world. Education will help a person grow as an individual because a highly knowledgeable person will have a better grip on handling any problem that comes his or her way. Literacy is the foundation of what we are as individuals. Every decision we make, as well as our thought process, is the basis of what we know....show more content... The lack of motivation and family values, as well as student responsibility, has created this crisis in the education system. In addition, insufficient funding of schools along with quality teachers that are retiring are some of the problems we encounter in the education system. In some parts of the United States, there is a lack of adequate access to materials for reading and writing due to budget constraints. In Allen D. Kanner's article, "Today's Class Brought to You By..." he mentioned that with the baby boomers retiring, and a high turnover among new teachers, who are asked to teach subjects they are not properly trained for, are causing difficult classroom situations (280). Similarly, Governor Jerry Brown's statement last January 11 pointed out that K–12 education has 'borne the brunt' of the state's budget cuts with more than $18 billion in cuts over the last three years. This resulted in larger class sizes, programs are cut, and over 30,000 educators laid off. These teachers are very valuable in our society because they provide our youth with the knowledge and social experiences that they will use to better their future and the future of the entire world. As a student, I have suffered the consequences of triple digit fee increases and the lack of available classes offered. The high cost of education has put the burden not only on the students, and many of their parents, but educators, as Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Education Is Important For Our Lives Education is very important for our lives. Without education society wouldn't be able to function the way that it is right now. Education has taught us a lot of vauable lessons that we use in our everyday life. Lessons such as math, reading and writing. The ones who teach us are Educators, teachers do not get paid as highly as they should. Is As an aspired educator, I believe that teachers should be paid higher salary than what they receive now. Educators are the ones who teach us all of the necessary things that we use everyday to succeed in life. Without Educators how would we learn? These educators are doing what they love which is caring for our brains to wake up everyday and teach us the same lessons that they have been teaching years after years. After college I plan on becoming a teacher. Being a teacher has always been something been something that I have always wanted to do.I knew I was made to become a teacher, when I was a child I always said that was what I wanted to be when I grew up.In A Life Beyond Do What You Love Gordon Marion talks a lot about whether we should do what we love or do what we find most meaningful to us, by using different scenario 's. For me being an educator is both what I love and find most meaningful. Becoming a teacher is very important to me but being a teacher has its pros and cons. To start my journey as becoming a teacher, I have been working in childcare for the past 3 years. Working in childcare has taught me a lot of valuable Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. You can't make it through life without education No human being is able to survive without education. Education tells people how to think, how to work properly, and how to make decisions. The better your education, the more choices and opportunities you are going to have in life. With that being said, you cannot make it through life without an education. Three reasons why you should get a good education are because you'll make more money, you'll live life with a strong sense of pride, and you'll have more freedom later on in life. The first obvious reason to why life without an education is not a good idea is because you make more money. The more education you get the more likely it is that you'll always have a job. Every bit of...show more content... It's like a reward because it shows that a person has paid their dues to society. Many people spend their days with their new found freedom by traveling, downsizing their homes, volunteering, and getting social by joining clubs or doing other activities. When people work they have vacation time off, but not nearly enough time to do some extensive traveling. After retirement people can use their time to explore the entire country or even other countries. When a person retires chances are their children are grown and have moved out of their homes. This is why many retired people chose to downsize their homes to save on their expenses. Many retired people volunteer themselves for different organizations to keep busy. Lastly, many retired people join clubs to stay social with other retirees. In conclusion, all human beings should get a good education because without one chances are you won't be successful and won't live a successful happy life. An education leads a person to many open doors of successful opportunities. With an education a person can encounter a great job with a good paying income, a proud prideful feeling for being so smart, and a relaxing life full of freedom and joy after the hard work has been paid off. A person receives so much more out of life by getting a good education, which is why you can't live life without Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. How Education Has Changed My Life Education has been a part of my life ever since I was born. My mother is a teacher, and I have always been in her classroom, and seeing her teaching kids is something I feel I knew I wanted to do ever since I was little. As I grew older, I had a rough time in school. I was identified with a learning disability in the fourth grade which helped me become successful and also made school difficult too. The impact education has had on my life is why I want to become a teacher. My mother has been a teacher for over 25 years, and is still going. When I was little, around the ages of three–four, I would go into her classroom to 'visit' her class. Even as time progressed I would go and watch her in the classroom, and eventually went to the same school she taught at. My mother would bring books home that she did not need anymore and other classroom supplies for me to play school. I would play school with my imaginary students, pretending I was the teacher and they were my 'perfect classroom of students'. My 'classroom' eventually grew into friends who would be my students, or my teachers. Talking with individuals who had my mother as a teacher opened my eyes to understanding what an impact a teacher has on their student. Growing up, school was a blur to me until about grade three. About first grade, until I was in fifth, I would go into a small reading group with other students my age. I did not think much of it, but I did not like missing out on classroom instruction. • 8. Education Is Not Preparation For Life John Dewey once said "Education is not preparation for life; Education is life itself." Meaning that learning is an active process that should occur to enhance one 's living and understanding thereof. When one only views education as a temporary thing they miss the big picture , and fail to grasp the what life truly is. Paulo Freire believes in having the opportunity to discover for oneself all that the world has to offer with the slight guidance from a teacher. He also says that "Education must begin with the solution of the teacher–student contradiction, by recoiling the poles of the contradiction so that both are simultaneously teachers and students." Freire introduces the idea that we can and should all learn from each other, that no one person is ever higher in the world of education. We all have a unique perspective and take on things, and teachers should allow us to discover and interpret for ourselves. Opposed to Freire 's view is the opinion that teachers should teach and students should simply absorb what they are being told. They should listen and soak up as much knowledge as possible but not question what they are learning. Many times teachers are able to get through more material this way, and some would argue this makes us smarter as students. I myself have experienced this way of learning in my AP Biology classroom last year. The course was very rigorous and we did not have time to "problem pose", but rather had to take notes and hope to soak up Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Education Is Not Preparation For Life "Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself." If one accepts the quote by John Dewey to be true, then depriving someone of their education is depriving them of their life. Throughout the centuries, human beings have sought educational freedom. The United States of America has become a symbol for all who seek life, or education rather. Millions of people come to the United States, from less privileged countries, each year in hopes for a better education that is coupled with a better life. Today, unfortunately, the U.S has lost its edge in the education department. Many studies today show this failure, "the U.S. is the clear leader in total annual spending, but ranks 9th in Science performance and 10th in Math" (Staff)....show more content... In the Special Education program, Special Ed for short, students are placed in smaller classes that give them more time with the teacher, and the contents of these classes are much easier than the standard classes. According to an article written by Harry and Anderson "approximately 29% of the students in Special Ed programs are African Americans" (Harry, Anderson). Many politicians blame racism to be a factor for such a large percent of African Americans in Special Ed. However, a study done by the New York Times shows that the opposite is true. The study states that African Americans are actually underrepresented in Special Ed programs and there should be more of them in these programs. The study provides evidence that African Americans are more likely to develop some sort of a learning disability due to their upbringing. The study provides compelling evidence for its claim, "Thirty–six percent of inner–city black children have elevated levels of lead in their blood" (Paul, Farkas). The figure for suburban white children is only 4 percent." Also, "black children are about twice as likely to be born prematurely and three times more likely to suffer from fetal alcohol syndrome (Paul, Farkas)". The study provides these claims as a support to why so many African American develop learning disabilities. Assuming that all these claims are true, where should one go from here? • 10. Education Improve The Quality Of Life Essay "How does Education Improve the Quality of one's Life?" Introduction Numerous studies have linked good education with a quality life. Their argument is that with a good education, a person can generally assume all the comforts and associations of life. According to UN, quality of life is a greatly subjective measure of happiness that is a significant component of numerous monetary decisions (Michalos, 2017). Numerous factors that play a part excellence of life vary according to a person's preferences. The factors include being financially secure, having job satisfaction, leading a healthy life as well as being safe. All these, with quality education, they can be accomplished, since education is an informative engagement in all aspects of life. Education improves health and well–being of a person which is a measure of quality of life It is important to note that education does not act on the well–being of a person in segregation from other elements. Financial power is another significant element that interacts in numerous vital ways with education as stimuli on well–being(Michalos, 2017). Nevertheless, education is of equal significance. Studies have shown that individuals with extra years of education tend to have better fitness and well–being as well as healthier conducts. Learning is a significant mechanism for improving the fitness and also the well–being of persons as it minimizes the desire for medical care, the allied costs of dependency, lost remuneration as well as Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The Education of Life Essay The Education of Life In Jon Spayde's article Learning in the Key of Life.He states that "the world's a classroom"(Spayde 58) and I agree.I also agree with the idea that a formal education is a serious undertaking and that it is a very necessary tool in life. This article is not in any way meant to dissuade you from going to an established institute to obtain a degree, it is however intended to get one to think about continuing one's education outside of the classroom. Spayde states that "many of us are getting the feeling that we didn't get the whole story in school"(60) and in fact we didn't!We couldn't!If one were to learn all there is to know in school then what is left to do with the next 60 years of life?Nothing, that's what.It is inconceivable that any one person could learn all that there is to be learned, but one can learn many things and can learn from others. • 13. In the words of John Dewey, "Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself, (2017)". John Dewey was a revolutionary, a transformer, and a pioneer ahead of his time. In this character analysis John Dewey's ideas of education and democracy will be scrutinized. In the YouTube videos referring to John Dewey, it was discussed that in the not so distant past society viewed "education in a sit and get mentality, (2012)". Educators put it in their student's head that recalling facts rapidly was a sign of a good education. During my life time, this was true. I am fifty–two years old and I can remember standing up as a class and the teacher rattling off multiplication facts and we, the students, being called upon to give the answer as fast as possible. If you got the answer right you stayed in the game, if not you had to sit down and listen to the others. The last one standing was hailed as a hero for knowing their multiplication facts. I do not remember any hands–on activities that would have taught the usefulness in understanding the multiplication process. Currently, I work with special education students. I give them hands on, real life experiences all day every day. If I did not, I cannot imagine them understanding let alone being engaged in the activities. However, this was not education in the eyes of John Dewey, who "gave the world the idea that hands on, real life experiences drive creativity, growth, and learning (2012)". John Dewey felt that "based on Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Education: Preparation for Life Essay Education: Preparation for Life A common question that educators and parents alike ask is how and what to teach children. Before one decides this, however, I believe it is important to know what your goals and purposes are. It is important to know why the children are being educated. It is my firm belief that in a person's educational experience, they should be prepared for more than just their career. One of school's many functions is socialization. School is where many roles are taught, such as gender roles. Students form a basis of how to exist within society. This can be in a negative way but also in a positive way. I strongly believe that it is crucial that kids are taught early that they play an...show more content... It is well known how important a good education is, especially since we have many societies in the past that have let the masses go uneducated to compare to. Historically, to educate the common people was to give them power, and that was feared. We take this for granted in ourmodern day world where we often complain about too much homework. The knowledge that we are given does, in fact, give us power to do so much to better ourselves and everyone else. A child from a poor upbringing has the possibility of eventually discovering a cure for cancer, for example. Education helps to tighten the gaps between social groups. This brings me to another important aspect of an education: respect of diversity. I think that a diverse school fulfills more educational goals. Students need to be taught to appreciate people of different ethnic backgrounds, homes, personalities, types, etc. A student must be taught not to judge others by these qualities and taught to not only tolerate diversity but to embrace it. I hope that as a teacher I will be able to help students to open their eyes and minds to other types of people. This is one of many things on my list of tasks that I hope to accomplish as a teacher. I want and plan to mold students who can reason and think critically and not only in boundaries that are set. I hope to be a teacher that makes a child question what they assume they know about the world Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. My Education Essay My Education When speaking of the topic of who a person is and their past, a massive part of this includes their educational background. Isn't this what forms people, their education? Of course, this doesn't always have to refer to their organized education. Everything that a person learns is something that educates them; these words being synonymous. Even something like first learning to tie your shoes is a part of your education. Which method works better for you: loop, swoop, and pull, or bunny ears? I of course, like any other well educated person, use loop, swoop, and pull; it's just the best way, no bias has ever developed there. I started out as a twinkle in my father's eye in the fall of 1982, and then on that fateful...show more content... Starting in Nana's Nuggets preschool, which had a lot of interactive learning, I began my first venture into organized education. This was a very warm environment, same as in my home, where caring and working with others was very important. I made a lot of friends in this school that I actually stayed with through all of high school. When this short stint was finished, I graduated onto Seward Elementary School, located in the same buildings as the Middle and High Schools, where I first learned that kissing a girl on the hand in kindergarten at story time wasn't a good idea. In the Seward Community Schools system, ones learns a lot about the natural world around them, and about Alaska in general, being as it is one of the worlds greatest natural resources. After first grade, there was a new building necessary, as the population of Seward, like any other place on earth, was growing. This new school was where I had a second grade teacher who had actually been in the Ms. America pageant, whom everyone had a crush on. I started music which I loved every minute of, as it would become a large part of me. As any other elementary school, this was where I learned my basic stuff of course: typing, addition, speling, and even crazy things like percentages! Going into middle school, I always had a taste for math and science, learning quickly all I could. Other things Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. How Education Has Changed My Life Essay These past four years have really been a life changing experience. From a childish freshmen not only at school but at home too, to a still sometimes childish senior, one who knows when and how to control himself. This school and its teachers have taught me so many lessons that will not be forgotten any time soon. You can probably imagine how nervous and maybe even a little timorous I was, my first day at Barstow High. It was not very simple to get accustomed to, coming from Hinkley School, which contained approximately four hundred and fifty students at most, to a big crowded hall ways of Barstow. I still remember how nervous I was that first day; my upper lip was shaking as I asked a hall monitor where the five hundred row was located....show more content... He first started with a lecture followed by a worksheet or two. For the visual learners after the worksheets he would show short videos about that same subject. Most of those videos were documentaries which were interesting if you paid attention. Another class that I enjoyed was English 2 taught by Mrs. Smith. Yea some people think she is though on her students, that's because she is but I think that it has a purpose. She gives some challenging assignment that nobody wants to do but somehow she motivates us to complete them. I remember two projects that were fun and effective, not only as school work but to help sharpen our people skills. One of those projects was to write a children's story book based on an activist from the civil rights movement. Once we completed our book we took part in a field trip to two elementary schools here in Barstow, once there we assigned to a five person groups and we also received a list with the room numbers that we were to visit. We read our books to first as well as to second graders. After we I finished I had some of the children write their named on the back of my book. The second project we were assigned that year and that I enjoyed was to research two authors from the 1800s or so, in collaboration with a partner that we got assigned to. For the first author we had the option to either create a power point presentation or create our own website about that particular author. My partner and I choose to build our Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Education Is The Most Important Aspect Of Life Philosophers say that life is one unending lesson, that the absorption of knowledge never ends. This motto is superbly represented in all of the pieces that Ms. Frankenberg's Composition class has read, watched, or listened to. Whether this education has been obvious or not, through a classroom or another medium, it is usually delivered in lessons that are meant to last a lifetime. By dissecting all of the aspects that can be taken from these educational situations, the credit goes to those who taught them, and it is to those individuals whom we should give credit for the lesson. These lessons are great additions to their "legacy resume", or the unofficial track of a person's accomplishments throughout their lifetime. It is in this way that legacy can be discovered, even if legacy means something different to each individual. Education is the most important aspect of life; parents teach their children, teachers educate their students, employers train their employees, and even the President of the United States is educated on important details by his advisors. Education does not just mean a school and a professor, it means any learning at anytime and anywhere. This reason is exactly why education is one of the most crucial parts of any legacy. Education is universal, without it no one would even know what a legacy is, much less retain the intelligence to create a legacy of their own. Throughout the years knowledge has improved, more people made names for themselves in their Get more content on HelpWriting.net
