2. • The medication that enhances urine flow is a diuretic. Diuretics
encourage the body's clearance of extra water, salt, toxins, and
accumulated metabolic waste products like urea. They help the body
get rid of extra fluid (edoema) that builds up in the tissues as a result
of numerous diseases.
3. • There are many different kinds of diuretics, but the majority of them work by reducing the volume
of fluid that the kidneys' tubules reabsorb before returning it to the circulation.
• The most popular diuretics, the benzothiadiazides (such as chlorothiazide), prevent the kidney
tubules from reabsorbing salt and water. The salt and water are ultimately expelled rather than being
reabsorbed, which increases the flow of urine.
• Additionally, these medicines are used to lower excessive blood pressure (hypertension).
9. Thiazides
Thiazides and hydrothiazides act at the cortical diluting segment, or DT, according
to their mode of action. Here, at the luminal membrane, they block Na+-Cl-
symport.
