2. BACKGROUD:
the production of Cassava Starch in
Colombia comes mainly from the
northen region of the cauca
departament in small agricultural
industrias known «rallanderias» in
which the setting the slorry occurs in
channels.

to evaluate the sedimentation
process performend in
rectangular channels (0,3m higli;
0,4 m wide, 165 m Long) , which
are generally used in the region.

l/s with a predominance of laminar flow and a
hidraslic retention time greather than 150 minutes.

was 15,9 years (50=75, range : 14-8).
