2. 1. Breeding, training, selling
and trading horses and ponies
Double Anchor Ranch has been working with horses and ponies since 1981
and has been breeding Quarter Horses and Ponies of the Americas (POA)
since 1998. We are training ponies so they can provide adventures and
transportation for services in our local community.
Last fall a longtime friend (breeder of P.O.A’s) retired at the age of eighty
five. . Eight ponies out of a herd of 60 were brought to double Anchor
Ranch, these ponies were wild, some untouchable.
They have come a long way from the wild ponies they were last fall,
thanks to the young people that have been working with us.
The Market:
Our ponies offer something for everyone in the family.
For children and youth
POA’s are proportional to their size. Youth can safely handle everyday task
such as catching, grooming and saddling.
For Adults
The POA is capable of filling most any equine role. They can be used in
halter competition, pleasure driving, Western and English pleasure, and
trainer/rider programs.
