May News:
The weather has finally decided to stay warm and everyone has
started riding again! It is wonderful to see so many people out at the
farm having so much fun! With this in mind there are a few friendly
reminders I wanted to pass along to everyone so that all boarders and
horses are happy and able to make full use of the facilities. First,
please clean up after yourselves and your horses. Sweep up any
messes in the wash stalls and in the aisles, put hoses away neatly.
This also includes if your horse goes to the bathroom on the grounds
or in the drive. This helps keep the flies and gnat population under
control as much as possible. Also, with the warm weather, more
boarders are riding and taking lessons. With this in mind, please be
aware and respectful of each others space and what they may be
working on with their horses. Communication is important. Jeff and
I will begin working on the ring in the back in the coming weeks so
that there are two areas to ride. Also, I know some boarders like to
bring their dogs to the farm. Now that the vegetable stand is opening
up and traffic will be increased, all dogs must be on a leash and are
not permitted to run at large on the property. This includes the fields,
ring etc. In addition, please also remember to drive slow on the drive
coming into the barn because of the customers and their families.
There is also not to be any riding around the front of the barn, the
stand, mulch, gravel and the packing sheds at any time. Please use
the trails for leisurely riding activities so that all riders and horses stay
safe. If you have any friends/family out to ride your horses, also make
sure that they have signed a release form and left it in the basket in
the feed room. I appreciate everyone’s cooperation and
understanding with these items.

Fly Masks, Fly Spray, Fly Sheets
Now that the bugs have started to make their debut at the farm it’s
time for fly masks and all that fun! If you would like your horse to
have a fly mask and/or sheet please bring them to the barn and make
sure they are clearly labeled with your horses name. It is also helpful
to put brightly colored duct tape on the masks so that they are easily
located in the fields. While the shift workers will attempt to locate
lost masks, it is ultimately the responsibility of the owner so it is
helpful to have more than one on hand. Fly masks with ears are best.
If your horse has a fly sheet, it will stay on unless it is raining or the
weather is too hot for them to have it on so make sure you check for
Happy riding!
