Fashion merges with Sports
 Yuvraj Singh is a cricketing legend. His famous 6-sixes against Stuart Broad
cemented his place in history as he became only the second-batsman ever to
hit 6-sixes on 6-balls. Shortly thereafter, however, he was diagnosed with
cancer.
 But our Yuvi paaji is nothing if not a survivor. Looking directly into the eyes of
his oncoming life-threatening disease, Yuvraj battled away from the pitch and
won. When the news of his retreating cancer reached the media, it rendered
the modern information technology devices incapable of handling the wave of
pleasure that spread all over world through his well-wishers and fanatics.
That is when he realized the importance of life, having come face to face
with his fragility as a human being. Yuvraj set out on a mission to help all
suffering cancer patients in the world and started an NGO –YouWeCan.
Sports combines with Fashion for a noble
cause
 Yuvraj Singh is a name that is recognized all over the world as a ‘survivor’.
After being diagnosed with cancer and winning the battle against the odds,
Yuvraj started an NGO to help cancer afflicted patients called YouWeCan.
 “My ultimate vision is to see YouWeCan outlive the name Yuvraj Singh,” said
Yuvraj Singh, speaking about the NGO at the launch of his apparel label of the
same name, which effortlessly merges fashion with sports.
 The core principles of the brand are rooted in his personal journey with
YouWeCan, an NGO for cancer survivors and patients. With the proceeds
from the sale of every product going as contribution to the NGO, Yuvraj has a
long term objective –to make the NGO self-sustaining and able to serve its
cause.
Carefree, Feminine and Strong –Young
Women, its All About You
 There is a reason why in ancient recorded history women’s roles have always been
over-shadowed by accomplishments of men. Oppression of women is an age-old
concept based on the notion that women are weaker simply because their physical
capabilities are lacking in comparison to men. However, in the modern times
women have risen to the opportunities afforded them and proved that while their
physical strength might be inconsequential, their will for life –of facing challenges,
growing, gaining knowledge and wisdom- is at par with the leading men.
 Inner strength defines women; compassion and insight drive them. Carefree,
Feminine and Strong –young women are like god’s own work of art. In Deepika
Padukone’s latest campaign for her brand ‘All About You’ the theme surrounds this
aforementioned inner strength. Overcoming the stereotypes set for women by the
society plays an important role in the growth of each girl into a bold woman, and
All About You celebrates that strength. Inspired by Deepika’s own personal style
and demeanor, All About You really is all about you- the modern young women of
India.
On Women’s Inner Strength, Femininity and
Endurance- All About you
 Women all around the world have faced a lot of tribulations throughout the
millennia of recorded human existence, enabling movements like ‘feminism’ to
take hold in much of the western world. Centuries of oppression by a male
dominant society restricted women’s roles as pioneers of science, technology, art
and business, especially in a country like India, where the past and the present
walk hand-in-hand. However, in recent times the veil of male dominance has lifted
somewhat: Women are free to pursue varied career choices and find, sometimes
to their own surprise, that they excel at various disciplines just as much as (and in
some cases more than) men. To sum up women’s inner strength, femininity and
endurance is virtually impossible, like the infinite cosmos we exist in.

 But that does not say anything about the turbulence faced by women in recent
times: Ideas pertaining to male superiority still find majority polls in many places,
as well as backward thinking which runs parallel to oppression. Beyond that, there
are stereotypes and societal restrictions: Women should cover their skin, they
must not go out at night, and the list goes on and on.

 “The right bag can make an outfit,” said Carrie Bradshaw in the famous TV
series The Sex & The City. Indeed, if there’s something women love more
than clothes and shoes, it’s got to be bags – any shape, size, design, look –
they can’t seem to have enough of them. This love for bags has met its match
in the Love Moschino range of fashionable bags, which comes straight from

 Started initially in 1983 by an Italian designer named Franco Moschino, the
older version of the Moschino brand is the parent of ‘Love Moschino’. The
‘Love’ was added to represent empathy, sharing, emotions, together with the
desire to express oneself. And it has helped in expressions. People from all
over the world are going gaga over the young new ‘Love Moschino’ as it takes
the formal training and classic know-hows of making luxury bags and mixes it
with what is ‘in’ ‘here and now’. This amalgamation of the old and the new is
sure to bring the spotlight of the fashion world on the new collection.
The ethnic side of ‘All about you’
 Women Fashion in India has been evolving ever since the Vedic times, when bare-
breasted sarees were the norm, to the present day when sarees are still worn
along with salwar-kameez, western-style clothes and trousers. It seems that the
history of Indian fashion is bound for immortality, as everything that has made its
way in to the market of Indian women has found its own, whether it be a niche
like regional dresses or nation-wide fashion attires such as suit-salwars. In the
modern times, films have played a major role in deciding the shelf-life of various
kinds of fashion. In the 80s and 90s, when women started wearing western-style
clothes such as jeans, trousers, shirts and t-shirts, it seemed for a short time that
the ethnicity of Indian fashion will be lost, but that cannot be further from the
truth. Tradition is a major part of an Indian’s life, no matter which corner of the
country one hails from. ‘Namastey’ and ‘Pairi-Pona’ are as much a part of an
Indian’s life as the national anthem of India –tradition and patriotism are at times
considered to be the one and the same thing. “Respect for one’s elders shows
character”, as Quentin Tarantino depicts in his popular film ‘Pulp fiction’, so it is
true for each Indian. To sum up, even the most major festivals in India are
centered (for the fashion conscious) around clothes, such as Ghagras and Sarees.
Roadster and MotoGP Create a New Code for
the Road-
 The constant whirring of the engine, the swooshing of air as it flies past the ears and the
slowly changing landscapes – these sounds and images are constant companions of riders. No
matter where you live, if you are a rider you are familiar with the slow secretion of
adrenaline that is triggered by a good long ride out of town, and the rough and exhausting
thrill of being one with your motorcycle is not easily replaced with something else. Once a

 Roadster is an Indian motorcycle clothing brand, deftly applying their own passion for riding

collection of denims, jackets and T-shirts made for the modern rider. As every rider of any

The Lure of Handcrafted Jewelry-
 ‘Working with your hands’ has been glorified since antiquity. In the olden days it
was the only way to get things done and the inheritance of those times which have
found their way to the present times only stand to prove why handicrafts are so
highly appreciated. Even today, men and women alike take the chores requiring
work-by-hand seriously as they breed humility and compassion in each heart. Only
a person who has bent over the ground to sweep his house, or changed the tires of
a car, or even just changed a flickering light-bulb understands the importance of
working with hands. For machines may be programmed to perform functions
exactly to the mark, human hands are capable of much more. We add a part of
ourselves to everything we do with our hands.
 India has been an exporter of hand-made artifacts since the time of the ‘silk
road’. As a substantial deposit of gold, silver, precious gems and diamonds were
found in the subcontinent, it was a champion of hand-made jewelry and that taste
for ornaments is still widely spread in the country. Even today, India serves as a
mecca for jewelry and the amount of gold imported into the country is
noteworthy. In such an eclectic market, hand-crafted jewelry has found a niche
that seems to be here for the long-run.
Ethnic wear in the office space-
 When it comes to choosing an appropriate dress for work most women in the world
will stick to an officious look; maybe a pencil skirt with an airy blouse or perhaps
trousers in darker shades paired with a loose shirt but ethnic garments do not
frequently make the list. Bold colors and trendy cuts do not exactly scream ‘office
girl’ for the world but we live in India and in our country the pot of fashion is not
so restricted. We have a tradition of vibrant fashion dating back to centuries and
all those centuries worth of fashion still exists today, in small forms or details. The
mix-n-match option is ever present to be availed with just some creativity and
confidence.
 It is rightly said that confidence is the best outfit to wear, for if you wear anything
with enough jazz in your step, you come off looking good or at least as close to
being aesthetically appealing as is possible if you’re wearing a jute bag. Indians
however are not limited in this regard, and can brag about having distinct fashion
styles originating from all corners of our great and vast nation.

  • 2. Fashion merges with Sports  Yuvraj Singh is a cricketing legend. His famous 6-sixes against Stuart Broad cemented his place in history as he became only the second-batsman ever to hit 6-sixes on 6-balls. Shortly thereafter, however, he was diagnosed with cancer.  But our Yuvi paaji is nothing if not a survivor. Looking directly into the eyes of his oncoming life-threatening disease, Yuvraj battled away from the pitch and won. When the news of his retreating cancer reached the media, it rendered the modern information technology devices incapable of handling the wave of pleasure that spread all over world through his well-wishers and fanatics. That is when he realized the importance of life, having come face to face with his fragility as a human being. Yuvraj set out on a mission to help all suffering cancer patients in the world and started an NGO –YouWeCan.
  • 3. Sports combines with Fashion for a noble cause  Yuvraj Singh is a name that is recognized all over the world as a ‘survivor’. After being diagnosed with cancer and winning the battle against the odds, Yuvraj started an NGO to help cancer afflicted patients called YouWeCan.  “My ultimate vision is to see YouWeCan outlive the name Yuvraj Singh,” said Yuvraj Singh, speaking about the NGO at the launch of his apparel label of the same name, which effortlessly merges fashion with sports.  The core principles of the brand are rooted in his personal journey with YouWeCan, an NGO for cancer survivors and patients. With the proceeds from the sale of every product going as contribution to the NGO, Yuvraj has a long term objective –to make the NGO self-sustaining and able to serve its cause.
  • 4. Carefree, Feminine and Strong –Young Women, its All About You  There is a reason why in ancient recorded history women’s roles have always been over-shadowed by accomplishments of men. Oppression of women is an age-old concept based on the notion that women are weaker simply because their physical capabilities are lacking in comparison to men. However, in the modern times women have risen to the opportunities afforded them and proved that while their physical strength might be inconsequential, their will for life –of facing challenges, growing, gaining knowledge and wisdom- is at par with the leading men.  Inner strength defines women; compassion and insight drive them. Carefree, Feminine and Strong –young women are like god’s own work of art. In Deepika Padukone’s latest campaign for her brand ‘All About You’ the theme surrounds this aforementioned inner strength. Overcoming the stereotypes set for women by the society plays an important role in the growth of each girl into a bold woman, and All About You celebrates that strength. On Women’s Inner Strength, Femininity and Endurance- All About you  Women all around the world have faced a lot of tribulations throughout the millennia of recorded human existence, enabling movements like ‘feminism’ to take hold in much of the western world. Centuries of oppression by a male dominant society restricted women’s roles as pioneers of science, technology, art and business, especially in a country like India, where the past and the present walk hand-in-hand. However, in recent times the veil of male dominance has lifted somewhat: Women are free to pursue varied career choices and find, sometimes to their own surprise, that they excel at various disciplines just as much as (and in some cases more than) men. To sum up women’s inner strength, femininity and endurance is virtually impossible, like the infinite cosmos we exist in.   But that does not say anything about the turbulence faced by women in recent times: Ideas pertaining to male superiority still find majority polls in many places, as well as backward thinking which runs parallel to oppression. Beyond that, there are stereotypes and societal restrictions: Women should cover their skin, they must not go out at night, and the list goes on and on.

Indeed, if there’s something women love more than clothes and shoes, it’s got to be bags – any shape, size, design, look – they can’t seem to have enough of them. This amalgamation of the old and the new is sure to bring the spotlight of the fashion world on the new collection.

The ethnic side of ‘All about you’  Women Fashion in India has been evolving ever since the Vedic times, when bare- breasted sarees were the norm, to the present day when sarees are still worn along with salwar-kameez, western-style clothes and trousers. It seems that the history of Indian fashion is bound for immortality, as everything that has made its way in to the market of Indian women has found its own, whether it be a niche like regional dresses or nation-wide fashion attires such as suit-salwars. In the modern times, films have played a major role in deciding the shelf-life of various kinds of fashion. In the 80s and 90s, when women started wearing western-style clothes such as jeans, trousers, shirts and t-shirts, it seemed for a short time that the ethnicity of Indian fashion will be lost, but that cannot be further from the truth. Tradition is a major part of an Indian’s life, no matter which corner of the country one hails from. ‘Namastey’ and ‘Pairi-Pona’ are as much a part of an Indian’s life as the national anthem of India –tradition and patriotism are at times considered to be the one and the same thing. “Respect for one’s elders shows character”, as Quentin Tarantino depicts in his popular film ‘Pulp fiction’, so it is true for each Indian. To sum up, even the most major festivals in India are centered (for the fashion conscious) around clothes, such as Ghagras and Sarees.

In the olden days it was the only way to get things done and the inheritance of those times which have found their way to the present times only stand to prove why handicrafts are so highly appreciated. Even today, men and women alike take the chores requiring work-by-hand seriously as they breed humility and compassion in each heart. Only a person who has bent over the ground to sweep his house, or changed the tires of a car, or even just changed a flickering light-bulb understands the importance of working with hands. For machines may be programmed to perform functions exactly to the mark, human hands are capable of much more. We add a part of ourselves to everything we do with our hands.  India has been an exporter of hand-made artifacts since the time of the ‘silk road’. As a substantial deposit of gold, silver, precious gems and diamonds were found in the subcontinent, it was a champion of hand-made jewelry and that taste for ornaments is still widely spread in the country. Even today, India serves as a mecca for jewelry and the amount of gold imported into the country is noteworthy. In such an eclectic market, hand-crafted jewelry has found a niche that seems to be here for the long-run.

Ethnic wear in the office space-  When it comes to choosing an appropriate dress for work most women in the world will stick to an officious look; maybe a pencil skirt with an airy blouse or perhaps trousers in darker shades paired with a loose shirt but ethnic garments do not frequently make the list. Bold colors and trendy cuts do not exactly scream ‘office girl’ for the world but we live in India and in our country the pot of fashion is not so restricted. We have a tradition of vibrant fashion dating back to centuries and all those centuries worth of fashion still exists today, in small forms or details. The mix-n-match option is ever present to be availed with just some creativity and confidence.  It is rightly said that confidence is the best outfit to wear, for if you wear anything with enough jazz in your step, you come off looking good or at least as close to being aesthetically appealing as is possible if you’re wearing a jute bag. Indians however are not limited in this regard, and can brag about having distinct fashion styles originating from all corners of our great and vast nation.
