2. GOLF RESORTS
o The golf resort industry is one of the fastest growing
industry.
o Golf Resorts is a full service lodging facility, that cater
specifically to the sport of golf, and provides access to a golf
course.
o Golf Resorts typically offer golf packages that provide
visitors with all greens, cart fees, range balls,
accommodations and meals.
o As a self-contained establishment, a Golf Resort provides
for most of a vacationer's needs while remaining on the
premises (lodging, food, drink, sports, entertainment,
shopping, etc.)

3. o The benefits of booking a Resort Hotel are that the
guest finds an all-around service within the premises.
o It is convenient for families, offering kids-club,
evening entertaining program, shopping etc.
o In cases the Resort is located far away from the city,
the Resort provides all the infrastructure needed (it is
a ‘village’ itself).
o In the case of a Golf Resort the guest benefits from the
proximity to the Golf course and at the same time is
provided with all the other services he wishes for
during his stay.

o Golf tourism is the term used to describe trips undertaken by
persons for which the main purpose is to play golf.
o This form of tourism is mainly subscribed by the elite, upmark
clientele .
o It blends both participatory and visual enjoyment.

situated.

6. IAGTO (INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF GOLF
TOUR OPERATORS)
o Established in 1997, IAGTO's membership comprises
2117 accredited golf tour operators, golf resorts, hotels,
golf courses, receptive operators, airlines, tourist
boards, approved media and business partners in 95
countries including, at its core, 517 specialist golf
tour operators in 62 countries.

7. PROMINENT GOLF RESORTS IN WORLD
 Pinehurst Resort, Pinehurst, North Carolina,
United States.
Eight superb golf courses, including the fabled No. 2
course that hosted the Ryder Cup in 1951, the U.S.
Open in 1999 (where Payne Stewart's performed his
victorious fist pump at the final hole) and 2005.

9.  Pebble Beach Resort, Pebble Beach,
California, United States
Home to probably the best-known golf course in the
United States, the Pebble Beach Resort also has three
others -- Spyglass Hill, The Links at Spanish Bay, the
Del Monte course -- plus a nine-hole, par-three
course. Pebble Beach itself needs no introduction to
keen golfers, having hosted five U.S. Opens as well as
the annual AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am on
the PGA Tour.

10.  The American Club, Kohler, Wisconsin,
United States
The American Club is home to the incredible Whistling
Straits course (almost 1,000 bunkers) which hosted the
2004 and 2010 PGA Championship and which is due to host
the 2015 PGA Championship and the 2020 Ryder Cup.

11.  The Old Course Hotel, St. Andrews, Scotland
Also owned by Kohler Co. the Old Course Hotel is
perfectly situated in the home of golf, right beside the
17th hole on the Old Course at St. Andrews, to allow
access to all the great courses in the St. Andrews area:
the Old Course, the hotel's Duke's Course, the Kyle
Phillips-designed Kingsbarns, the two great courses at
the Fairmont St. Andrews and the exceptionally
difficult Open Championship venue Carnoustie just 50
kilometers north.

13. IMPORTANT GOLF REOSRT IN INDIA
 The Lalit Golf Resort and Spa, Goa
Is one of the most exquisite, beautiful and secluded Goa
beach resort. It is also the largest property in Goa in

Kaziranga Golf Resort. The 18-hole, 71 par golf course
in this property has been designed by Mr Ranjit
Nanda, one of the leading golf course architects in
India, and is set in the middle of a tea garden, on an
area of 150 acres. Accommodation is offered in
tastefully constructed cottages and heritage suites.
