FE Report
Speakers asked the graduates of the country on Friday to develop necessary skills to fit in the
global and local job markets as demanded by the recruiters in the ever changing professional
regime.
They made the call in the inauguration of a two-day career fair, kicked off at University of Asia
Pacific (UAP) city campus in collaboration with Chakri.com, a sister concern of Prothom Alo
where leading companies of the country like Apex Husain group, Rangs motors ltd, Sure cash a
total of 18 are taking part in the fair to recruit talents.
The programme inaugurated by Vice Chancellor of UAP Prof Dr Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Prof
Emeritus of UAP, Dr Abdul Matin Patwari, Treasurer of UAP, Ishfaq Ilahi Chudhury, Board of
Trustees of UAP Kaium Reza Chowdhury and Associate Editor of the daily Prothom Alo, Anisul
Hoque, among others, were present in the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Jamilur Reza Choudhury said many graduates are entering in
the job market every year but there are limited scopes and vacancies. So graduates should search
not only good jobs but also look for entrepreneurship opportunities for employment.
โDevelop yourself as an expert on what you are good at to achieve most out of the
opportunities,โ he added
Dr Jamilur Reza Choudhury also expressed hope that in the future UAP will arrange the job fair
with larger scope with the cooperation of the more companies that will employ their graduates.
โWe donโt provide jobs rather provide works upon expertise and skills, so develop skills beside
academic achievements and expose those to convince the recruiters what they are looking for
their vacancies,โ said Anisul Hoque.
He also suggested taking the scopes of being entrepreneurs to contribute in the economy and
flourish talents for benefiting the country as well as thyself without looking for jobs only as the
jobs are limited and canโt accommodate all in the market and create opportunities for
unemployed graduates of the country.
2. Beside job fair the UAP is also arranging four seminars to convey practical techniques to their
graduates where industry experts will deliver and share their experiences as well as knowledge to
benefit them in the challenging practical world of employment.
Minister of State for Science and Technology, Arch Yeafesh Osman, Lead software developer
Shaheda Mustafiz, CSO of Airtel, Rubaba Doula, and Chairman of DohaTec, Luna S Doha will
