Dum Pukht is a Peshawari food, which is very simple but too tasty. It is now used by almost in all sub continent because of its taste and rich nutrients.
2. Ingredients:
• 1/2 kg Fat-Tailed sheep fat
• 1.5 kg Mutton leg
• 2 Potatoes
• 3 Tomatoes
• 2 Onion
• 6-7 Green chilies
• 1 big Lemon
• 50 gram Ginger
• 50 gram Garlic
• Salt to taste
• Black pepper to taste
• 1 & 1/2 cup water
3. Directions:
• Take mud handi (pot) add fat-tailed sheep fat
in it then add big size cut mutton leg and add
tomatoes, potato, onion, green chilies, lemon,
ginger, garlic and salt & pepper.
• Add 1 & 1/2 cups of water, close it and cover
the edges with flour.
• Cook for 2 & 1/2 hour and don’t let steam go
out.
• Open it carefully after 2 & 1/2 hour.
4. Precautions
• Use mud pot
• Don’t use spices, except black pappers
• It is a steam food so tightly covered the lid
• Don’t use steel spoon, but wood
• Can use beef also
• Eat at day mostly
