3. What is a nervous system
 Nervous system is a network of nerve cells and fibers
that transmits nerve impulses between parts of the
body. Nervous system has two distinct parts: The
Central Nervous System and the Peripheral Nervous
system.

4. Central Nervous System
 Central nervous system are complex nerves tissues that controls the activities
of the body. This system comprises of the brain and the spinal chord

 This is a nervous system outside the brain and
spinal cord. It comprises of cranial nerves (except
optics), spinal nerves, and the autonomous
nervous system.

6. suffixes
 Suffix is a letter or a group of letters that is added to the
end of a word to change its meaning or to form different
word. Nervous system like many other English words uses
suffixes. Some of these are:
 -paresis,
 -phasia

7. Suffix: -paresis
 -paresis –weakness or partial paralysis
 Word parts:
 Hemi- half or one side
 -paresis weakness
 Hemiparesis --- the two words combined together formed
hemiparesis. Hemiparesis is weakness or loss of motion in
one side of the body.

 -phasia: loss of speech

 Aphasia: aphasia means inability to communicate verbally
or in writing due to the damage of the speech or language
center in the brain
