3. EDITO
from Mr Philippe Colançon
President of the Board of Directors - Aixam Mega
This year, Aixam Mega, a leading vendor of licence-free cars in France
and in Europe since 1986, is launching its Impulsion line with 2 flagship
models : the “City” and the “Crossline”, vehicles of impeccable quality
with a resolutely contemporary design.
The Impulsion line is starting off with two new entries at the forefront of the brand.
These novel City and Crossline cars fully embody all of Aixam’s values, especially its relentless
pursuit of top quality. Our goal is to consistently offer models with a contemporary design that
are safe, generously equipped, comfortable and environment-friendly.
Our clientele is comprised of people think young or are young, who are becoming citified and
who demand a more complete product package for their daily travel needs. Ever attentive to
our customers, we have developed models to meet their expectations and needs.
These two models bring a fresh, new style to the market of licence-free cars. In addition to their
novel design features, special attention has been devoted to sound-proofing, safety and accessories.
Thanks to a meticulous choice of materials used, exemplary standards of assembly and accessories
with a refined touch, these two models offer an outstanding level of quality.
As part of our constant concern for meeting regulatory standards, all of our vehicles are
certified according to applicable directives of the European Union, particularly in terms of
protecting the environment. We have incorporated technology that allows us to offer vehicles
with emissions of only 77,9 g of CO2/km and a recycling rate approaching 100 %.
For Aixam Mega, 2010 is also a commemorative date, marking the sale of 205,000 vehicles
manufactured since its founding.
We invite you to rouse your sensory powers and discover the design, comfort and refinements
of the City and the Crossline.
Welcome to the world of Aixam…
5. The site at Aix-les-Bains (73) - Company headquarters and production plant
Aixam is an industrial firm located
at Aix-les-Bains (Savoie) and Chanas (Isère),
in the Rhône-Alpes region.
It has shown consistent growth since the company was founded and has
moved onto higher ground with the development of its European market.
Thus, between 1986 and 2002, the production capacity increased from 3,000 to
10,000 vehicles, attaining a record level of 15,500 vehicles in 2007, prior to the
world economic crisis.
For 2009, our level of production is at 11,200 vehicles, with steadily improving
prospects for 2010, based on plans for 12,000 cars, which represents a growth
rate of more than 20 % compared to 2002.
In 2009, with a network of more than 130 dealers in France and 600 throughout
Europe, Aixam Mega, with nearly 43 % of market share, is solidifying a position
as French and European market leader that it has held since 1987.

legislation did not make this compulsory. Since then, AIXAM has developed its policy of
putting user safety first and insists on all its vehicles going through the crash test.

of any car manufacturer : 3 wins in the Andros Trophy (1994, 1996 and 1998), and second
place in the Paris-Dakar in 2000, an outstanding result for a first attempt.
Even with a diversification programme like MEGA, AIXAM manages to strengthen its
position as leader of the “no-licence” market. BIRTH OF THE FIRST-GENERATION MEGA.

AIXAM : upholding European standards.
17. EUROPEAN REGULATIONS
Since 1992, the Common Market has become an internally
border-free area in which freedom of movement is guaranteed.
The European Community Council has thus issued construction
regulations that apply to every type of vehicle sold.
This is how quadricycles have been defined :

licences are admitted.
18. OUR ROLE
18
19
IN SOCIETY
AIXAM is attuned to societal needs.
19. In recent years, the number of licence-free cars
has grown substantially and they are now seen in normal use.
These automobiles have the tremendous advantage of serving people without a driving licence.
The grounds for their not having a licence may be permanent (in the case of the elderly), or
temporary (for young people under age 18), or accident-based (for people who have had their
licence suspended).
In addition, cars not requiring driving licences are just the thing for city life (low space use,
consumption and pollution). They offer users much greater safety than that of two-wheel vehicles.
In fact, analyses of accidents are clear on this point : quadricycles are the class of vehicles that
causes the fewest accidents involving bodily injury (ratio of cars on the
road to number of people killed and injured).
“For most people,

AIXAM has a thorough understanding
of its market.
21. For some time now, cars not requiring driving licences
have been beset by preconceived notions and false rumours.
