This document proposes expanding Monroe Community Hospital's social media presence by hiring a social media director and adding two new social media sites. The director would oversee all social media related activities and ensure regular posting. Suggested content includes sharing patient stories, documenting daily resident activities, and learning from peer hospitals' social media. The goal is to promote the hospital and engage residents, families and the community without spending money on other forms of advertising. Regular tracking of engagement metrics is also recommended to evaluate the social media program's effectiveness.

money.

people involved in an easy enough way.
5. Proposal
The public matters; what they hear, is how
they view Monroe Community Hospital. It
really doesn't’t matter what is true/false. They
believe it.
MCH adds a Social Media director, and two new
Social Media sites in addition to Facebook, which
is already running.
Director– In charge of everything Social Media
related. Anyone who wants something to be
posted, must go through the director.
6. 5 Ideas for Social Media
1. Tell Powerful Patient Stories
2. Do something innovative
3. Take a hard look at Risk
Management
4. Keep eyes on peers
5. Keep track of everything
(From healthleadersmedia)
7. 1.Tell Patient Stories
Social Media would be a great way to
provide
followers, family, friends, everyone
with stories of the patients.
Interview a patient, upload a picture
of them with the story, and let people
comment and show the resident.
8. 1. Tell Patient Stories
The residents love
to tell their stories.
Interview them and
upload them on
Facebook. If they
are
successful, they
want people to
know.
Look back at their
past—They want
people to know
what they did
before they had to
live at MCH.
9. 2. Do something innovative
Take risks!
You aren't paying anything to upload what you
are uploading, so upload more pictures, write
more stories, tweet more tweets.
Follow a resident around for a day. Live tweet
what the average resident does in a day at
MCH. Take pictures, take a video, and share it
with the Social Media sites for friends and
family to see.
10. 3. Risk Management
Don’t just share
positive feedback
Share some
negative feedback
Allow people to
help MCH out. If
something
negative
happens, share it
so that next time
that won’t happen.
11. 3. Risk Management
Make sure the residents know what is
going on the Social Media sites.
Have them sign a contract so that you
can post things about them and that
they agree to everything.
Also have the staff sign a contract.
Make sure you take risk, but also be
careful.
12. 4. Keep an eye on peers
See what other hospitals and long
term care facilities are posting.
Use some of their activities and ideas
Make sure that you are keeping up
with your peers so that people want
to come there.
13. 5. Track Everything
Social media is great way to track things
Track followers
How many activities you do each month
What people like and what people don’t
like
If the residents like it
How many residents are on Social
Media
If you are posting enough each day and
15. Facebook
Updating the
Facebook each day
Upload Videos of
the residents
Post the menu and
activities going on
for that month
Update everyday
17. Instagram
Connect with
your twitter so
whatever you
upload, also
goes on your
twitter
Post pictures of
residents, office
s, the
hospital, familie
s and friends.
18. Twitter
Most popular
Social Media!
People are
already posting
about MCH
Tweet certain
amount each day.
Can do from
anywhere with cell
phone.
20. This could already be someone who
works in the hospital, or hire a
completely new person. The director is
going to have alot on their hands
because Social Media needs to be
updated regularly.
Social Media Director
21. The residents would feel as if they
were being involved with the hospital
and love sharing their stories with the
outside world. All of the proposed
ideas would involve residents and
anyone outside of the hospital.
